yeah... plenty of places have 2-3' reducers available in sillycoon...
Thanks guys. I have seen a lot of 450x300 or 450x400 coolers. Most of the ones i have seen have 3'' outlet/inlets. Are there adaptors from 3'' to 2'' or will i have to find a cooler with 2.5'' outlet/inlets and go down to 2'' from there? Thanks for the input.

or who ever is doing your aluminium piping should be able to cut the 3'' or 2.5'' outlets off, close it up and recut it in 2'' thats kinda along the lines of what my aluminium welder did,
but he also makes intercoolers so he knew what he was doin kind of
nathan, drive you 1G over 11psi, its alot more fun and those plans of 1JZ or 3S will be alot futher away

1980RIP NATHAN BRETT DEAN2007,
It's interesting that everyone saying that 3" is too big.
I ended up getting the standard 450x300x76 Justjap cooler with 3" outlets. I was looking for 2" outlets, but this came up at a price I couldn't refuse.
I'm soon to fit it up, and would prefer to "massage" the front panel a bit and run 3" as far as I can with reducers onto the standard piping rather than chopping up the cooler and running 2" piping. This is just in case I ever decide to go crazy, to the point where I'm running single turbo and custom inlet and a 3" pipe is required for flow. (honestly though, it's highly unlikely at this stage).
Do you guys recommend 2" just because it fits better through the front panel without cutting, or because of some pressure drop in higher cross section piping?
Cheers,
Timbo
3" is massive overkill, if you want to leave room for future expansion go 2.5" at the most. 3" pipe (especially the bends) take up a lot of room.

Thanks Norbie.
Overkill I understand, and pipes taking up room I can try to work around. Would you suggest performance will be affected however?
Cheers,
Timbo
No. In theory larger pipes have more volume to fill and thus will affect lag, but in practice the difference will be negligible.

Thanks Norbie.
Tried to rep you again for your axle database (came in very handy yesterday!), but got denied... must spread love... yadayadayada...
2.5" ideal, but i know one car with 505hp at all 4s on a mainline that has 2" piping so whatever fits nice and looks good would be the go.
no that wasnt a miss print 505hpatw (out of a daily driven 1.8t that lugs around a 1800kg car) 139mph over the 1/4 if you think im full of it.
JustJap stock the 450x300x76mm chinacoolers with 2.5" outlets - this is what i have opted for on my RA28 with the one day coming 18R-GTE.
Combined with 2.5"-2" 90* silcon reducer/bends, it's an absolutely perfect fit. Like it was made to fit an RA28.
...... butt scratcher?!
I ended up with the justjap cooler, but unfortunately it's a 3inch.
I agree it's going to be a mission to get the piping through (maybe cut bigger holes, maybe get 3"-2" 90* reducers), but like Karl said.... the core/tanks fits like a feckin glove!!!
Silicone reducers are cheap as these days, the size of the end tank outlets are a non-issue IMO.

And what price would I expect to pay these days. Ebay/JustJap seem to average about $20 a peice. Is that what you mean by cheap-as Norbie? (serious question... not being sarcastic)
Cheers,
Timbo
if you compare them to SFS bends for $80-120 a bend then yes.Originally Posted by timbosaurus
