I might just get 2 TRD 0.8mm gaskets,

Cos i am pretty impatient i already ordered the Cometic one but I'm sure it won't take long to sell maybe $150 inc postage so i get 95% of my money back

they say that grex and hks are re-usable, hehe wouldnt feel safe doing it tho. Ive tryed heaps of gaskets and the toyo one is quite good i use them instead now (for 4a anyway).
i dont have a funny or cool signature.

Turns out the Cometic is about 1mm thick, so i will just put it on and lower the compression some other way, like pistons or something down the track

About 1mm thick? As in 0.8mm, or 1.2mm? How did you measure ~1mm, as a tenth or two of a millimetre changes your compression ratio a not insignificant amount? And if it is exactly 1mm you're still increasing your compression over stock.

If you're going to just use that cometic one and run boost, i wouldn't be waiting until down the track to lower the compression some other way.

    Mah! she'll be right

I got the measurement from the packet, it is 40 thou and I'm pretty sure thats about 1mm.

it won't lower the compression enough to make a difference from the standard H/G i don't think, and running stock compression with boost should be alright as long as i don't load the engine up to much or red line every gear.

all comes down to the tune, that 1.0mm might be the uncompressed thickness though..

you know the cometic one won't ahve the right holes for the coolant passages for the 20V head.....see the differences in the thread I posted above....I would be using a standard Toyota 20V or TRD 20V one.

It has all the right holes in all the right places, it seems to be some sort of mutant between the 16V and the 20V H/G.

    It'll be right
