    Default ecu question

    I want to get rid of my air flow sensor (i have a 3tgteu in a 79 panelvan) i have been told that i can do this by putting an after market computer in my car is this true??

    yes it is true

    it can cost up to 2000 to supply rewire and tune an ecu

    Do you have any recomendations for what sort of computer i should look, a mate of mine has said that the greedy e manage fuel only unit is the way i should go

    microtech is cheap and works very good if tuned good

    but u have to see if spending 2000 will get u many benefits

    i do know that 3ts like to melt std pistons if the boost gets to high

    Thanks for the advice, the plan for the car since i bought it as a project so its only a rolling shell with motor and gear box, diff and bear minimum in front to keep wheels on, so its going to be a full ground up rebuild so i will be asking alot of questions as i confront each stage the only reason i ask about the computer is the air flow sensor takes up a large area in the engine bay and i am trying to eliminate the clutter as much as possible and i have been told that an after market computer is the best way to go so its like two birds with one stone haha but i have been told about the pistons and when i get to that part of the project i will definatley address that issue also what about the twin spark i have seen other cars that have individual ignitors for each lead is this better then the two coil set up that currently on it
