    Default 1uz warm up/idle

    G'day,
Another exciting development with the celsior
Drove it 500+km's yesterday and it was happy as a 1uz could be, also took it out for a small drive last night and was fine. Today is another story.

Started it up and would turn over but die.
Started it up and held revs at 1300ish with accelerator and it was happily smooth, I would stop accelerating and it would die.
Did that again for about 1-2minutes and it ducked under 500 and bounced back up.
Now the petrol side of things is great, as it as i can smell it, as if it was warming it up at 1400 etc... and the spark is well apparently, as i can rev it after i've warmed it up and its smooth.

So it will idle at 500, which it tries to do straight away and dies. If i rev it to 2000 and let it drop it will try and recover to 500 and die.

Coming from a ta22 2t this is all new, it seems whatever it is that controls warming up/idle is on the blink.
I can hear a click (from i think) from the right side of the engine bay when i take it above 500 revs.
I'm thinking that maybe a relay has died in the a*se, probably in the idle control circuit if there is one?

    Any ideas?
    Cheers.

Hi mate, most likely the idle air control valve. That is located at the very front of the engine, just infront of the engine serial number. They gunk up, and become a PITA. Remove, and clean with carby/throttle body cleaner, apply a dab of molybdenum grease to the shaft, and refit.

    cheers Chuck.
