well I am rebuilding an engine and I want to keep things as simple as possible for reliabity and neatness. Chances are I will just leave it but I want to know if I want to that I have the option there.

I know that might sound stupid but I want to know eveything I can with this engine as I build it. The more I know the better I can make it.

    fair enough

well I managed with some difficult to reach under and unplug mine last night, and I felt not one little bit of difference, well that proves that theory. Also my other reason is I may not of received those hard lines under the throttles with my second 20v so I can see if its possible to go without.

When I first got my blacktop running with an aftermarket computer (Stinger)
I was finding that, due to this thing, when starting it up, it would always rev itself up to over3000rpm before dropping down to idle (presumably not being controlled or adjusted properly for the non-factory computer).

I found this really annoying, so I disabled it (I forget how), and then it was a little harder to start, but at least it no longer did that embarrasing uncontrollable rev-up on startup.
