I believe the AFM from a 5-ME will work as a replacement for the 18R-GEU
Beige.... The new Black!!!
the car wont start with the afm on the throttle body
when going it idles very rough and occasionally dies when revs are put on
i was given this test by another toymods member http://www.4crawler.com/4x4/CheapTri...tml#AFMtesting
i did them and none of the results were even close
Try one from a 22RE (RT142 Corona or RA65 Celica). I have put one on my 2TGEU, works okay - want to get it on a dyno and check air fuel ratios, but it should work fine.
AE92 Lueno GT-Apex (zenki Trueno with a Levin front end) - BT 20V & LSD
KE30 Tudor - 2T-GEU, T50, T292
thanx for your help guys
alternative is just get a Megasquirt![]()
...... butt scratcher?!
Oh yeh, thinking back i used a 22-RE AFM with my 18R-GEU with standard ecu. It worked fine, although air/fuel ratios were a bit rich down in the lower revs. But its an 18R-G, they love to rev!
An EFI tuner should be able to adjust the spring tension slightly to remedy this tho.
on another note, i believe 5-ME AFM/coil/igniter all are compatible with the 18RG standard stuff.
As is the wiring loom.... Just cut off 2 of the injector plugs.Originally Posted by 23T-GTE

On a related note, does anyone know of a flapper-style AFM which is larger than the 18R-GEU one? I want to put slightly larger injectors in my 18R-GEU, and rather than tightening the AFM spring to buggery I thought it might be a good idea to use a bigger AFM. Does anyone have a 5M or 7M AFM they can measure for me?

when i get home ill measure the 5m-e one, however the 5m-ge one is even bigger (mainly taller inlet, same width).
