I don't know what you're doing wrong koffee... I run BKR6e-11 (regapped to 0.8) and have had no problems at all (in fact, I probably change them a lot less often than I should).
Note: there is some (false) information out there stating the 1jz should run 1.1mm gap stock. this is utter crap and can easily cause a miss (especially after a few kms). 0.8mm is correct.
go old rolla!
Turbo flutter. : Its like a burp and a hiccup at the same time.
yeah, if you got the 11's and didn't regap them then that could cause spark blow out. .8 gap on the 6's should be ok but for mild modded engines 7's seem to run better in mine.
Yeah, i didnt gap them, i dont have teh tool to, or the knowlege.
get feeler guages for $10 or so. Add them up to equal .8. Put inside spark plug. If it doesn't fit tight then tap the top of the plug a little on something hard. fit feeler guages and see if it is tight now. Continue until tight. Too easy![]()
What do you mean? If you mean the ceramic cracked off again, I'd be a bit worried. This used to happen in one of my old rotaries because it was detonating like a mofo.Originally Posted by Koffee-Black
I'm not all that clued up on spark plugs though - just adding my 2c. I generally go for 6s for daily driving and 7s if I'm running more boost than usual.
ohh Lord! Ever have a cooler hose pop off? Scared the shit outta me! Finally! The BKR7E .8mm are the shit! My car is tuned for 1bar at 231rwkw, but could never go past stock boost without it missing, today, i switched her to 1bar, and damn! Give it a hit in 1st then second, all over the place the POP! and a loud whistling sound, i thought ohh noo, turbos are 3 months old! Luckily just the cooler pipe.
So, in saying that, cant go wrong with bkr7e hehe.
haha, you sound excited! Good stuff![]()
