i just used electrical tape on my last car... seemed to do the job i didnt have any problems![]()
Hey guys,
I have got to replace the reverse light switch in my Astra.
Do I need to put a few turns of teflon tape around the thread to stop tranny oil leaking out?
Or is tape affected by heat/oil?

However the thread tape won't react adversely to the oil/heat of your gearbox.

my camry's bung is on the top of the tranny, so id doubt you'd need anything in there...
but it should have a copper washer.
