    Default Reverse light switch

    Hey guys,

I have got to replace the reverse light switch in my Astra.

Do I need to put a few turns of teflon tape around the thread to stop tranny oil leaking out?
Or is tape affected by heat/oil?

It could well have a copper sealing washer on the switch. If it does I don't think you need to bother with thread tape.

However the thread tape won't react adversely to the oil/heat of your gearbox.

I need a working 4AGE bottom end. Pref smallport GZE, but all others considered. Also complete motors.
Drift Volvo. Was fun. 2JZ next time.

thread tape FTW... I use it even on NPT type fittings... best to be sure.

my camry's bung is on the top of the tranny, so id doubt you'd need anything in there...

but it should have a copper washer.
