    yeah ive heard of people saying the 'metalcats' melt or crush blow causing major restrictions.

    i havn't experienced a prob with them and i use them in a lot of cars.
    most of the time cats do this due to being too rich/lean as it causes the catalist to either overwork or get to hot and then they start breaking down.
    1 other person i know of had this prob and they gave him a replacement on the spot, so try for a warranty and see how you go.

    happened to me!
    the flames coming out my exhaust were a dead give away that it was running rich and as a result melted the cat. I just wish I realised before I spent money dynoing it with a blocked cat. Don't be suprised if you get an exhaust leak now too if you don't fix it soon enough.

    dude, as has been said, your car obviously isnt tuned properly.

    soit doesnt matter what cat you buy, it'll still happen.

    your car might be un-tuned NOW, and be causing these problems, or it mightve been untuned before and its only started to appear now...

    similar thing happened to me before ... turned out to be a leak in vaccuum hose that run from a plum back BOV ... you might as well check that its not leaking or anything ...
