Need help boost problem.

Please help me.

I own a 4agte in AW11
I have a major boost leak but i dont know wheres it coming from.
Ive checked and double checked:
every pipe from turbo to inlet manifold
checked the intercooler,
all piping hoses,
wastegate auctuator,
all vacumm hoses are in the right spot,
theres no leak in manifold,
turbo blades are still all there and still free spins
exhuast side all there too.
engine still idles very good.

The engine doesnt recieve any boost what so ever, all you hear is a whining noise from turbo spinning when im normally boosting. I havent been driving hard too lately.

Ive run out of ideas of what it could be.
Please help....need rego soon.

do you have a boost guage? What does it read? This will tell you if there is any pressure getting to the intake manifold. Your actuator might be stuffed and letting all the exhaust gases past your rear impeller on the turbo and therefor not making any boost.. ie stuck open.

Ive got a boost gauge.. but only boost ..no vacuum.

Ive taken the turbo off the car to check everything aswell.
wastegate seems to be fine heaps of tension pulling it shut.
ive also tried driving without any thing hooked up to wastegate too.
In neutral with the engine reving the bov still lets air blow out.
also tried blocking the bov too, just incase it was leaking.

Grab some start-ya-bastard, RP7, wd40 or some other hydrocarbon based spray, get your engine idling, block a good chunk of the inlet at the air filter with a rag or your hand or something(to create some vacuum) and methodically spray each and every join between the turbo and the throttle body.

The engine will noticibly change note if there's an air leak.

Ive tried blocking the turbo intake completely with air filter off, and then blocking the bov..off as soon i do that the engine dies ....that should show that there isnt any air leaking between turbo and intake. (correct me if im wrong)
Cause if there was a leak it would atleast idle...this is not a normal leak it has to be huge, cause engine not getting any boost even without wastegate operating.

Im going crazy cause of this problem.
ive taken the turbo, manifolds, piping and intercooler to check all clamps, hoses pipe work but still cant seem to find it. And its not easy to work on the car cause everything is accessed from under the car.

so what does the boost guage read? nothing at all?

Yeah boost gauge has nothing no move or anything. checked to make sure its connected to.

Well if there is no reading on the guage at all, then there is either a huge leak before the throttle or the turbo is not making any boost. You tried pulling the boost controller off? Is there any seat of the pants difference when you give it some throttle? Be careful removing the boost controller to as to not overboost the engine. It could be that it is bleeding off all your boost, but to read nothing is strange. You should be able to hear if it has a leak when you give it some revs. If the leak was there and you covered the pod then it shut off you would think it would get some boost to the motor before it leaked out.

yeah thats what im thinking there is a huge leak. but the turbo seems fine...no unusual shaft play, compressor seems fine exhaust side seems fine too.
Ive tried removing boost controller already still same problem. there is no boost to control.

You could remove the intercooler pipe that goes to your throttle, and rev the car with it off to see if any air is passed through it ie the turbo is actually working...

Yeah tried that too....heaps of air still coming out... but cause it a t28 it doesnt generate much boost free reving engine.

well if air is comming out from free reving ( i know it doesnt make much doing this) then you would think that under load more would get to the intake manifold and show a reading on your guage.... Tried a friends guage? is it hooked up ok? Whats the seat of the pants meter tell you?

Car drives like a dog....no pull at all...engine not getting boost.

Well without seeing it im stumped. Im sure someone else here with greater knowledge of cars will have some better ideas. Only thing it may be is a crack in a silicon join, but as you have said you checked that. Sorry mate, for a monday morning im out of ideas!
