Default 1ggte, wont idle on cold start. check engine light on

Hey just wondering if anyone can shed some light on this issue im having

After getting my car back from getting the head recond i noticed the check engine light was on car seemed to run fine mechanic reckons the sensor might be an issue but i think hes full of **** ive noticed so far putting u foot down when reaching hi revs sounds like a bit of a flat spot/splutter also starting the car first thing in the morning wont idle takes quite a few cranks to get it going also randomly when idling the revs will drop really quickly then go back to normal and sometimes taking off will have a bit of a flatspot but not always.

if anyone has some ideas i can try would be muchly appreciated.

Might be some sort of Fuel relay,

Mate had the same problem with a Honda B16A, pretty much the same as you described

    sounds fuel or spark related
change spark plugs if they havent been done, or leads/dizzy etc.

could be dodgy fuel pump too.

dude, check your timing... especially coz the head was off... i got my supra back from an autosparky a few years back and the timing was 40* advanced...

might be the opposite in your case... some mechanics (i use the term loosely) just whack the dizzy back in and dont check shit...

otherwise, yeah, could be fuel or spark, check ya plugs..
