heres what it should look like :
you can see mines a bit mangled, thats due to me bending it out slightly to make it seal harder (lid against the neck) as ive had the same issue.
correct, what they have done is the *correct* way to do it.. you press a restrictor piece in there and use some sika to seal it. i would imagine if you can remove it then you can just use the original aw11 cap.

Shees Adsport.. I have NEVER seen one like that.
Aus NA's are nothing like that!!!
JBs My SC does it too.
My theory is compliancers using random filler necks with random caps.
Find the right cap for your neck and problem is solved....
Trouble is that is impossible unlsee you know what neck they used.
Go to a wreckers and try every different cap lol.
Or you can buy my Aus delivered filler neck (cap included) and get it installed. Fixed.
$500 and it's yours ha ha ha.
Look on the bright side... less paint to sand off when you do re-spray!
Hopefully it will dissolve all that gay two-tone off for you.... lol ha ha
Worse comes to worse just spraypaint the shit out of it like Adsport... maybe that's why his is sealed![]()

i think your first port of call should be trying to pull out the falcon insert they have put in there.worst case i actually have another spare one here as well.
Yep will do, is the old school cap a standard Toyota one, or something specific for the AW11 imports?

That looks like a pretty average insert installation job there.
Rip it out and use the standard cap. It's the same as one off an AE82 and probably any other 80s Toyota.
The problem is that a lot of them have fairly perished rubbers - a new one will set you back about 40 bucks from Toyota but will fix the problem - at least it did for me.
There should be a reasonable amount of pressure building up in the tank during normal operation, it should hiss when you remove the cap.

Thanks to James Cameron's Terminator films, we know that robots are stronger, faster, tougher and more Austrian than the rest of us.
Do you have to replace the fuel filler when brining an AW11 into Australia still?
I was under the impression you used to have to do it so you cant put super into an unleaded car. But im guessing that now there is no super available in Aus you dont have to do this change anymore.
Anyone know?

when i spoke to my engineer about it he said it was still a requirement despite not being able to get leaded fuel. he did however say it was pretty much just a box ticking exercise.
yep afaik you do have to do it , mine was a case of
DPI : did you change the fuel neck?
