but i thought the ra60 strut (ra65) inherently has more camber than an ra23/8/40 strut.
Please keep us posted on the result of this post haste.
have been told by my realiable friend at Celica Spares that there is no diff in geometry between ra60 and ra65.
I'm actually test fitting RA65 struts to my RA28 this weekend. Apparentley he has sold these to peeps for this exact reason and said only 1 guy out of 5 said he had positive camber... to fix it he supposedly swapped passenger knuckle to drivers side and vice versa.
So if it all fits some 28 guys might be interested in this upgrade (I sure as hell will be).
Plus then I may be able to swap in the power steer arms as forementioned![]()

Slightly more off topic, does everyone know that on your control arms there are lock stoppers.. grind em off for more lock, also take the bolt out of the knuckle arm. Im doing it to mine, but gotta get low profile tires first cos they hit the body at close to full lock lol yeah negative offset!![]()

doing tomorow and will post results.Originally Posted by TA-022

Still disagree. Shouldn't be putting forward facts as certain facts w/out certainty, in particular anything from celicasupra.comOriginally Posted by Negative Boost

We can take the Ma61 struts off the parts car and compare them to mine when you help me take out my struts again![]()
Hi,sorry to hijack this tread..
I also used RA60 strut to my RA28 for easy nissan 4 spot brake upgrade..to get correct chamber i use GX81 lower arm,its working good.No cut and weld.Just drill out mounting point at crossmember from 17mm to 19 mm..for TA22 its get" 0" chamber but for TA23 or RA28 still need pillow ball adjuster,to get perfect.
Hope this help..

ra60 are not a direct bolt in. the collars on the knuckles in ra28 are spaced 2mm less apart than ra60.
getting ball joint puller and ra60 knuckles tomorow to try and make it work.
also if using the ra60 brakes, the caliper mounting bolt at the base fowls on the knuckle. since if these work ill be using this upgrade thought that is irrelevant.
EDIT: was trying to bolt drivers strut into passenger side.
RA28 knuckles still dont bolt to ra60/5 struts. Least the calipers dont fowl now.
trial mounting (with long bolts and nuts) actually showed a sexy amount of neg camber... aquiring knuckles this week to be further tested after dubbo.

I still wanna know if there is anything for the RA60 live axel!!! Cruzida if you need pics and specs let me know, my car is off the road. By the way, i got the calipers sitting on the struts.. looking good so far, rotors will be on soon.. still no motor for the car lol

hello
Im not really after discs hey, drums lock up real nice. Im after more of a drift car but i want to do alot of touge/hill climb ect. Just after something cool.
By the way, this thread should stay alive, its a real good thread!!

Ok, time for a bit of bumpage.
FINALLY test drove the car with the front and rear brake upgrade.
Now while its hard to judge how phenomenal they are (my front rotors were covered in brake fluid, so they weren't working to 100%, more like 50%), I can assure you they stop.
With the rears working 100%, the front left working probably 10% and the front right probably 50-60%, she pulled up ~1500kg total weight in just on 60m from 110kph.
I have no doubts that with them all working 100% a distance of under 40m would be achievable.
Now, it is important to note that I have no bias issues.
I have stock a Z32 rear setup, and Z32 calipers on the front with R33 GTR discs (324mm).
So the reduction in piston size on the rear has appeared to be nicely balanced with the increase in rotor size on the front.
Stefan will hopefully be testing his car out later this year, as that will have a stock Z32 rear setup and a stock Z32 front setup.

You betcha!
I would have thought that the bias effect of larger front rotors would only be evident in the case of heat soak.... a-bing both setups side by side should be the same for a first stop IF the stock z32 fronts are adeqate.
Front/rear bias should be able to be tuned slightly with different pads front/rear.
