I personally would not try a AWD conversion unless the chassis was built for it. The one conversion I do know of, the spare tyre well and to be cut to fit the rear diff. Someone ages ago also mentioned vibration issues converting a FWD to AWD.

I would be inclined to leave it FWD and have a switch to limit boost on 1st and 2nd gear.

If you need guidance I think there is a Auto Shop up in Newcastle that has done this GT4 conversion.

Let us know how you get on.
Yeah, I would use the MR2 box (97 onwards with LSD) if it was going to remain a FWD car but I really have my heart set on the AWD conversion. I actually tracked down a guy from Newcastle (I think his name was Nathan) quite a while ago who has done this conversion to his SV21 but he didn't really want to help me or talk about his project. Each to their own I guess. If fabrication becomes too difficult, i will be looking at importing an SV25 (AWD gen 2 Camry) rear cut so I can graft the florpan onto mine.
That's quite some time away though.
    Cheers.

I met the owner as well. Quite a distrustful soul. The shop that helped him out was a bit more social.

As well the person who did the wiring was a Toymods member, Sean I think his name was. Work at a place up at Hornsby.

I've only ever seen one SV25 here. I've also seen some kind of a grey import Corona AWD that basically had a 3SFE and transmission like a RAV 4.

Thread revival - Does any one know if Camry-GT4 got his car working as awd?

I'm currently starting to look down this alley and any info would be appriciated.
