    Haha, there's not much stock about a JZ in an AE71 corolla panelvan anyway

    ReQuieM: it may have been you I bought it from, that would be around the right time. Strangely enough its never had so much as a whiff of crankcase byproducts in it, my 1J appears to have almost no blow-by. Either that or the filter/baffle arrangement under the cam covers is super effective.

    veeeery nice, where did the bracket for the coil packs come from? how much did the coilpacks cost?

    as for the blow by, the baffles in the cam covers are very good but my motor also throws 0 oil, infact the only thing that comes out of my cam covers is fuel vapour. i removed my catch can because of this. im now looking at getting a air pump.

    You do get oil from the cam covers, but it takes a long time to build up. They are no LS1 that's for sure. After a couple of years, I did have a bit of a build up in the intercooler that was enough to effect the cooling capibilities of my setup in attempting to make 300rwkw. After I completely cleaned out the intercooler, made another 12rwkw.

    .

    Bracket is just painted mild steel made in my shed Don't let the swiss-cheese style race holes deceive you, it is just a clever disguise for the DIY project haha

    Coils retail for 70 bucks, but you can get them cheaper through trade contacts. Even Microtech sell them for $100 per pair which is a fair bit cheaper than REPCO, Autopro, AutoOne etc.

    Jampac: interesting point about cooling efficiency, I will keep the catch can after all.

    Anyone used the BCP7R resistored plugs? Or are all the BCP plugs resistored?

    Couldnt find a set of BKR7s anywhere today, so I need an alternative

    don't know what you mean by resistored? I use BCPR7e's gapped to .7mm. I "think" Jampac does as well. Worked well for me so far but I haven't pulled them to have a look since racing yet. No knock on dyno, no hard to start so appear like good heat range for me. Also, apparently the BCPR's are recommended of the BKR's for nitrous use.

    BCP= 14mm thread, 16mm hex, Projected insulator nose
    BK= 14mm thread, 16mm hex, ISO Projected insulator nose
    R= Resistor type
    E= 19mm thread reach
    S= copper core centre electrode

    so the BCPR7E and BKR7E are both resistor type plugs.

    I'm pretty sure can't use resistor type, it'll blow the coilpack or ignitor.

    I'm thinking oil buildup in the intercooler would be from the turbo as there always seems to be a little oil just downstream of the compressor but none on the air feed side.

    ummm... I think you'll find the opposite, resistor plugs are usually required on cars running engine management computers because the purpose of the resistor design is to reduce electrical "noise" in the system, in the same way that RFI suppressed ignition leads are required. Unsupressed leads or non-resistor plugs should only be used on the most basic old-school carby systems with no electronics to be interfered with

    so does using heatshrink on the coilpacks effect refitment of the rubber boots?

    Nah they still fit fine. A bit tighter though. Let the heatshrink cool and harden before refitting the boots, otherwise the boots will push the heatshrink back.

    Not as neat as the other one, but here was my soloution.
    drilled 6 holes in the top middle of the stock cover, and fed the leads through one at a time.
    BUT. It is a complete pain in the ass to change leads, sprak plugs are easy, but leads...
