torque breaking parts is one thing, but you could probably safely say that most failures are from abuse.... clutch dumping, burnouts, flat changing, ... general silliness
you would likely find that the people whose drivelines don't break, are either overengineered sufficiently, or they have learnt to drive with mechanical sympathy...
prior abuse is also an issue.. once cracks start forming (diff, gearbox, axles) then it is just a matter of time with a certain torque level...
