    Default crank grind

hey i have a 3t crank ready for a regrind on my 3tg hybrid motor rebuild,
so far its going to be crack tested, ground undersize, linished and balanced.

now the cranks are forged from factory which is good but im wondering is it worth getting
the crank stress relieved and nitrided?

(theres also cyro temp process which is too expensive but avaliable.)

the motor is being built for street with some track use.

Starters, are you sure its nessacary to get it balanced?

Toyota cranks are really good qaulity from the factory, i wouldnt bother with nitriding or stress releiving.

I just got my 3t crank ground and linished which is to have a similar life as to what you explained. I am building the engine myself at work (race engine shop). I dont think its nessacary at all. People will try and convince you it is, but they are only trying to ake your money. Likewise with the balancing of your crank.

Oh, whilst doing all this i balanced my rods and pistons. I think i had t take like 2grams of the small end of 2 of my rods and i was done. Everything else was spot on. Quickest balance job i have done, considering a holden 202 usually takes around 1 hour due to the rods being all over the place on weight
