    You have to buy from a distributor (Bursons I think). Best to call them (see website for details) and ask who is the closest distributor to you. That's what I did. Once contact was made they were sent overnight.

    Good luck.
    Have you got a price on these?
    Cheers Brett.

    ^^^ Can't recall exactly but it was competitive with other brands but the other brands were not the right shape. It's always best to check at time of purchase for obvious reasons. Besides I was after the original type so that was my justification for whatever I paid.

    Rad, blocking off that vent and using the intake side one will be fine... whats good for the goose is good for the gander after all (later models used the intake side rather than the exhaust side).

    Looks like it was the plugs causing issues. Chucked a different set in and its going okay. Will redo the timing and see how we go from there!

    Speaking of Spark Leads.. anyone been able to get their hands on some TRD 18RG leads? Rare as hens teeth aren't they.. I've been happy with my Top Gun's though.

    Yeah, I think Toyota and TRD have sorta dropped their support of the humble 18RG... pity though.

    QLD ignition leads is the place you wanna go, they're on the north side, near mango hill, not the cheapest around, but the do the big leads (9mm +) i got a full set for my 1G (inc dizzy-coil) for about $130 from memory, did i while i waited... definatly reccomend them.

    Rad28 - Yeah I'm quite familiar with QLD Ignition leads. Been around for ever. Used to have them on my torry hatchback's 202 (bogan car, i know). I found them to be quite good.

    Although.. My Dad recently bought a set for his 308 and wasn't happy with them. He then tried some Eagle leads and that fixed the problem. Top Gun's for the 18RG have been really good. Only criticism is that one of the boots sits about a mm higher than the rest of the boots, which is a bit strange but no big deal. Still seals around the chamber nicely enough.

    Hi,

    Well those old EFI units weren't the best and offered nothing better than the carbie system. However, I am a tad concerned that they're only 40mm, as the 18R-G should be running 44mm.

    18RGEUs had crappy cam profiles and low compression remember. They made up for it with EFI and larger valves.

    It was more the better designed head and larger valves than the EFI. And, in any event, it didn't go far enough... I'll take one of those smaller valved, more agressive camm'd, higher compression 210/230 head 18R-Gs, with the 44mm Solex.

    Though I'd like to see what power a 250/270 head 18R-GUE could do with 9.7 CR pistons and 210/230 cams.

    Yeah, I've got an 18R-GEU retrofitted with 40mm Solex's. What's the point of having one of the greatest engines of all time with EFI? 4 barrells of carby goodness for me thanks!

    Oh - Since when did the 18RG come out with 44mm solex's? As far as I know, all 18RG's from 88210 to 88270 came out with 40mm Solex's or EFI. Correct me if I'm wrong, please.

    Hi,

    Yep.. my bad. I got carried away.

    2T-G => 40 PPH-3
    18R-G => 40 PPH-4

    Sorry about that.
