Black w/white is STA power. Has been this way on every 70/80's toyota i've wired

Can anyone confirm if a thick black/white wire connects to the starter motor in a ra28.
the wire is located on the intake side near where the dizzy is?
i've got a wiring diagram, but it says black only, with no white strip.
or if you have a wiring diagram better than the haynes type, would be great.
i will do another search BTW.

Also, best place to get headwork done on a geu head, including re-seating, porting and re-grind 270 cams if possible?

The black/white to the starter motor is the STA as pointed out, it is the ignition starter switch to solenoid wire.

Steve at Cylinder Heads (Ex Peak Rebores) has been doing my 18RG heads for years. He is at 72 Beresford Ave Greenacre now, his number is 0419431481. He does not grind cams but can set them up for you once you supply the cams

Great i'll give Steve a call. He's not to far at all. glad he knows what an 18rg is, some builders i spoke to didn't.

i guess, depending on the head treatment for EFI and 9.7 comp, my old adjust 270 cams would most likely get the treatment to be 292 deg up to 295 for mid range power.
my current cams are *****231's which i believe are around 251 plus deg duration.

22r starter motors, I see there is a 1.4kw option for the later 22r's. Can anyone confirm they will still fit the old 18RG? From what I can tell they should.

Anyone solid mount webers on their rg? I know everyone always says they must be soft mounted but I'm sick of trying to get them to seal. Don't know if it's the weight of rg intake or what but I can't afford to keep replacing them.

These are borrowed from the Weber Carburetors Manual which should solve your problem. They sell this book for a good reason, well worth the info inside.

I'm using Phenolic Insulators, Similar to the original ones, They seal well and keep the heat of the carbies. I'm using 5mm ones though to keep it more compact.

I would love to know the answer to this as well, dont really want to be using an old flogged out starter that makes it harder for the engine to fire up - especially on the uber 18rgte.

I have a 22RE starter motor in my 18RGEU / W50. I have a lightweight flywheel from DCS in QLD but the ring gear is an 18R item.

So that should confirm it for you.
