Hey 18RGEU people, what's this ballast resistor / resistor block for the injectors? Obviously it's not like a conventional ballast resistor?
Appologies Morgz.
I'll dig out the PM and reply. Barely have time now days to view forums and work on carbs.

Rodger

The 18R-G. The GOOD 2 Litre Tractor motor.
Your injectors are low impedance type. The resistor block is to limit the current drawn by them to prevent the injector driver circuit from burning out, as well as the injectors themselves overheating and burning out.
There are two ways to remove the need of the resistor block. The first is to use high impedance injectors. These typically have a slower response and aren't as accurate. The other is to use a current limited computer. The Megasquirt computers have current limiting on their outputs and will prevent injector burnout for you.
If you need a resistor block, I have one that isn't being used.

18RG Wire Bracket 0 1 by SigmaProjects on Shapeways
This is an idea for a site I was thinking about creating a while ago, except 3D scanned using the NextEngine or similar. I was afraid of getting sued by Toyota.
I think it should be OK to scan and upload parts that Toyota no longer sell. How old does something need to be before it's allowed?
Hopefully this idea grows, and more people with 3D skills are willing to create hard to find parts
Andrew
That is a great idea.

Hi,
I'd like to get the proper spark plug leads.
Yes, you can still buy the non genuine items. But the lead comes in from the side in the originals, and it comes into the top in the copies. The originals make the leads sit a lot better and more neatly in that wiring thingo you're thinking of getting reproduced.

Hi,
Do they come in black? I think blue will clash with the engine bay colours.
