Rens, What carby manifold do you have?
I'm still looking for a manifold with 88211 casting number on it.
It's one of the long manifolds.

If you've got one, I'd be happy to swap for one of my short manifolds and cash.

i just had a look, it's got 17111- 88211 cast into the runners closest to the distributor. How much difference is there between this manifold and the regular one?

My engine's in a RA40 and is a little tight near the brake master.

i'll measure it and give you an overall dimension of my manifold

    Edit: 90mm overall length

Here's a pic of the manifolds.

I'm after the one on the left, the long one.

There were two different long manifolds and a few short ones (about 3 from memory) used on the RG motors.

Go to arias/atomic pistons direct, no middle man.

I found them helpful and mostly pretty good on the time scale, and can do what ever size you want.

Unless you have an issue with the pistons themselves?

no its more the order form they ask me to fill out, its ridiculously in depth, alot of the things i cant answer, and i dont have a sample piston to give them, so i was hoping for an "off the shelf" alternative.

Dont worry about the form, they know the 18RG form well and will take you through it, and will already know the information that you are not sure about.

Just email them telling them what bore size you want and tell them you want to up the compression, and I reckon they will do the rest for you.

OK, so I'm trying to connect up this fuel pump but the green bible is not very helpful! In the fuel system chapter there are 17 pages for the carbs but only 2 for the pump and it doesnt give you the most important info!

Can somone fill in the blanks for me please?

what do you want to know? where those fittings go?
    5:goes to the carbs.
    6:is the return
    7:is the supply line
when i brought a new fuel pump i had to change #5 to a barb fitting like the others, for some reason it came with a threaded fitting, i assumed it was for an 18R

hey all, ive ocntacted arias regarding pistons, and they were more then helpful (thanks silverRA23 )
since im here, i figured i may aswell make it a 2.2L, but ive got a set of 40mm dellortos i was plannning to use, is it worth going 2.2L if im going to be using 40mm sidedraughts? (wont cost me any extra to do so) or will the 40's be inadequete and i should stick with 2L? dont really want to have to by 45 webers or something if i dont have to. (unless someones got a cheap set? lol )

edit: been doing some reading (18rgte reference thread, this thread http://www.toymods.org.au/forums/tec...rg-2-2l-4.html etc, on 2.2L, and theres people discussing using different cranks to achieve 2.2Ls, i was under the impression that i could bore it out to 92mm, using custom 18rg pistons from arias, and that was all it took, which, looking at the engine, makes sense, but i want to clarify before i order a set of pistons i cant use)

My solexes are 40's and they are more than happy with the extra capacity i gained going to 92mm pistons from arias, so I would say go for it.

When you do put that order in, also make sure you order a 92mm head gasket from cometic as the stock one won't deal with pistons that big
