Climbing hills will see positive pressure, big hill + cruise set to 110.. you're bound to get on boost
Hmmm,
I don't have a source of pure vacum though (no climate control, hence no vac cannister).
So the only place I can physically connect the cruise control actuator to is the manifold, hence it will see boost (even if it is not engaged at the time).
I think I'll play safe and tee off my brake booster line AFTER the 1 way valve and connect that to the cruise control.
Regards
Peter

I've seen boost doing this. And also at 80 in 5th going up a steep hill just yesterday.Originally Posted by Dale

Well maybe this MA70 was faulty, but it absolutely would not get on boost under any circumstances when the cruise was engaged?

Oh sorry, i wasn't talking about using cruise control. Just talking generally, i dont have cruise control on my car. No MA61 cruise control would be able to see boost seeing how they work. Even Reg Reimer has said that his cruise control dosn't let him see boost with his 7MGTE.

The (turbo)ma70 has a vacuum canister I thought so it has a reserve of vacuum for things like cruise when there isn't manifold vacuum. Although that doesn't explain why there wasn't a boost reading when it was on cruise. Just remember it only has to be a loss of vacuum to not work, having boost just futher negates its function.
Yeah I always thought turbo cars with cruise control either had vacuum pumps, or vacuum reserve tanks for this reason. There was a thread somewhere a while ago where this was talked about

Just thought i'd add this.Originally Posted by Gibbon
I just hooked up my boost gauge to the Cruise Control nipple that sits above the booster and it sees boost. The actually 1-way valve sits in the middle of the rubber hose to the brake booster. It's clipped into a bracket that bolts onto the same bolts as the brake MC.
Have you tried getting onto boost with the climate control set on auto? My climate control (DVV) didn't used to have a 1-way valve in it and when ever i saw boost with the setting on auto, it'd go from 26 degrees for example and the fan on low TO blowing air out at me on MAX and on the coldest setting.
