I doubt it is the tacho booster, as you can see the IGf line doing silly things.

The tacho output from the igniter doesn't goto the ECU...

Also the car has done over say ~30000km with the same tacho booster...

However it is that simply circuit that is floating around.

Norbie: Yeah I think I'll have to try and find a JZZ30 ecu to try (know anyone?)

    Cheers

Make sure the tacho booster has a diode on it.
I used to get IGF errors intermittently til I added one.
When my CAS was smashed I got that error too, so maybe check condition of CAS and its wiring.

Was your tacho doing other crazy things etc?

I didn't have a diode, but I've since added one... (I can't really see how this would effect it but hmm!)

It did crazy things when the CAS got banged up
Tacho has always worked fine with the booster though, with and without diode.
I might be barking up the wrong tree with the diode, I have other theories about why the ECU kept popping that error: The timing was out by a whole tooth on the crank itself (pulleys were ok though).

Just going out on a limb but the timing being out a whole tooth on the crank might put the spark so far out of wack that proper ignition (and hence IGf) wasn't occurring?!

    Still worth a try

It would only set the code once every few weeks though, odd aye!
