Yeah the SAFC was tuned with the 6's in there.... they were gapped to .8mm and i now have the 7's gapped to .7mm
If the plugs are gapped the same and there is no missing then I don't think it could make a difference. If you were going from 7's to 6's then it could be increased cylinder temps but that would bring on knock not this 4k stall type issue.
If you can borrow a FP guage to hook up, that can rule out a lot of things if it is all ok. Was the SAFC tuned with the bkr6e's and the old auto then?

still don't think that would be an issue really. Fuelling is still going to be the same. You wouldn't be making much boost at 4000rpm yet would you?
can you chuck it on a dyno to check fuelling?
Nah only like 3psi, like i said as soon as it continues on it's on boost hard.
Might see if i can put it on a dyno sometime soon then, i just don't know how something would of changed since the tune though it's only done about 300km since and was tuned low 11 AFR's.
Does it seem to stall at 4000 in all gears or is this 2nd you are talking about?
Do you know if this auto was working previously?
2nd gear is the weakpoint with these boxes and I would imagine that you are making a fair bit of power with that t78 so I think it is either live with it until you get a manual or rebuilt it strong.
That's a good point Chris, i'm going to do more testing this weekend - i know on the freeway at 100km/h it will do it... i'm thinking that would still be dropping back to 2nd though?
Box was working perfectly before hand in a mates car, he only pulled it out to do a manual conversion but at the same time he wasn't running as much hp through it as i am now.
I did also replace my torque converter with his one when the box was swapped.
Thing is it doesn't seem like it's slipping at all, my old box used to do that in 2nd but this one feels much much healthier and the fluid is actually cherry red instead of brown and burnt.![]()
