If anyone from Perth is still keen to head over (ie drive), Krystle and I will be leaving Perth on Wednesday morning, and heading straight to Sydney, hoping to arrive there Saturday Arvo.

Plans are:
Wed - Perth to Balladonia - 930km
Thurs - Balladonia - Ceduna - 986km
Fri - Ceduna - Mildura - 1007km
Sat - Mildura to Syd - 1011km

I'm also contemplating going right through to either 'Hay' (extra 300km past Mildura) or 'Robinvale' (extra 100km past Mildura) to make the last day into Sydney more relaxing.
