Default Toyota EPC is now ONLINE!

    Hi all,

Well after about a month on BitTorrent I've finally finished downloading the Toyota_EPC 2004 Version.

    Here's what you get:

18CDs covering all European, US, Japanese and General Toyota models up to 2004 (I think)

    Two manuals - 1997 (53 pages), 2000 (87 pages) in Word format

Setup Instructions in TXT and PDF format

    4 x videos as follows:
Video 1: How to install the EPC main program
Video 2: Extracting ISOs and burning them to CDs
Video 3: How to install disc data on your PC
    Video 4: Final CD setup

A set of labels for all 18CDs

    WinRAR to extract the ISOs

I've created all 18CD separate CDs. They are:
    General A1, A2, B1, and B2 discs
    European A1, A2, B1, and B2 disc
    Frame 1 Japan disc
Frame 1 and 2 OS discs
    Japanese A1, A2, B1, B2 and B3 discs
    USA 2004 Updates A1 and A2 discs

I haven't installed the software yet as it's a bit tricky (hence the videos and written instructions). Apparently it's an old master program that ran under Win98 so it doesn't like it when you try to install on a drive other than the C: drive and if you've got more than 5Gb of free space it spits the dummy too. The instructions show you how to get around all these limitations though. It's not too hard if you have a little bit of computer experience and some patience.

Anyway, the point of this thread is to say that I'm happy to share this EPC with fellow Toymodders, at least anyone wanting to have a copy.

It will come in handy when you are looking for particular parts and need the Part No. to tell the Toyota Service and Parts people. I'm hoping it's got info on the 1GGZE in English. When I've finished installing the master program I'll report back so don't ask me if it's got info on engine XXXX etc.

In the meantime if you want a copy of all of this here's what you have to do:

PM with your details (name, mailing address, etc) and I will send you a DVD disc with all of the above material on it. You will have to sort it out from there, eg, make 18CDs etc. I'm asking $5 to cover buying blank DVDs, packaging and postage anywhere in Australia. I hope that's reasonable.

If there is enough initial interest I'll buy 50 DVDs and start duplicating.

If anyone has an issue with the $5 I'll donate any monies leftover to a worthy charity.

    Cheers,

    Peter

I was thinking when I've got it installed I'll be able to jump in on posts and give all the relevant information like a real Toyota guru

    Cheers,

I figure by the time I reproduce the disc, add a label, buy a postpack and put a stamp on it that should be $5 worth.

Anyone wanting to download through a BitTorrent client should look here:

    http://www.torrentz.com/1d3468aafef6...db4eea6759d1f7

Take your pick from any number of sites. The reason mine took over a month was because I got it through a dedicated Toyota site that only had a couple of Peers. I can't remember the site but when my eldest gets home tonight I'll ask him if he's still got the torrent file, and post it up. I'd say, though, that mininova would be your best bet in terms of volume of peers and leeches.

    Cheers,

ah easy way for this one
    download vmware player
then download a 2gb xp or 98 image (or create a 2gb vmdk file then build your own)
then use isomount to mount up iso's to your vm image

i could only get 4 cd's working at the one time. the server install wouldn't work for me.

    hope this helps.

Instructions recommend against server install. LocaL PC only Grega.

Other info, however, is all good.

    Cheers,

    Peter.
