depends on which AZ6 you use........ Averall the estimate is about 10 kilos - it shouldn't affect handling since the extra weigh is pretty much centered

oh I meant overall gearbox and adapter, and yes I agree the weight shouldn't do much that lower and centered

oh right, that would mean about 41kg, hey thats not bad at all.

I really hope you manage to get this organised and selling. There are so few people out there doing the hard yards to make something so custom and elaborate. So I give you full credit for sticking with it event hough it definitely wouldn't of been easy.

HOLY crap............ I'm an idiot! (rather not have you agree with me.....)

The T50 was NOT only used behind "A" powerplants... but "T" engines as well!!!!!

    Look familiar???

Wouldn't a "T" bellhousing also work so that this could be used behind a 2TG, or 3T, or even a 3TGTE????

Or any "T" engine with a bell housing that mounts to a T50!!!

If you know someone who is looking for more gearbox behind their "T"... and they like the looks of this package????

PLEASE have them email Rob Golden - [email protected]

I believe they can use the J160 from behind a 1G-FE as the "T" & "G" engines have the same bellhousing pattern. Someone correct me if I'm wrong.

    e30 you're correct, a J160 from a 1GFE equipped car can be used on a T series engine

Sorry for my ignorance but why spend 10K + 15K on a gearbox upgrade when a w series could be had for a lot cheaper?

If the w series doesnt fit or is not applicable, why not strengthen the t50?

    1k and 1.5k

the j160/AZ6 is one of the slickest short shifting boxes made. It has VERY nice ratios for a 4AGE.

I was talking about the engineering costs. 10K + 15K.

So its a well suited box but for 25K?

There is approximately $10k into the costs upto this time... that is primarily labor( Pineapples, the gear cutters, the CNC company, oh... and that doesn't include the 1st $3k that went to a caster who disappeared.....

the $15 is to set this up for producing the 25 kits. *IF* these sell, future costs of production will fall precipitously

sometimes you have to make stuff just for the sake of it
it certainly is a niche market.
on yahoo i've seen ppl offering service of just cut n shut the BH with an A series one.. not pretty but also works.
