my 1g sits on 85-88deg all day, every day. only ever seen it get up to 92 when i was belting it up the hill

we have had 35deg days up here and it didnt phase it at all.

im running a stock 2 core RA40 radiator, so its not the biggest radiator out. im only using one 12" thermo fan.

very suprising how the smallish radiator copes with the 1g

    what coolant you using brett?

ive found if i dilute mine down more with distilled water it stays cooler. but if i run the proper mix of red coolant and water it heats up easier...

NULON coolant. pretty concentrated as well

though ive had much cheaper brands in there for short periods for flushing ($1/litre type thing) and saw the same results.

sometimes it takes quite a while to warm up, maybe too long

Holy shit guys, over 100 degrees is a regular thing for you!? My car sits at 82-83 degrees for the most part, and occasionally sneaks up to 85. It never got high even when caning it in 35+ degree heat.

The 82 degree thermostat from a 4AGE Corolla is what i'm using.

ive noticed my 1G creeping a bit too. i havent got the mechanical gauge installed yet (will do that on the weekend).. but from the factory soarer gauge in the dash it sometimes creeps over the halfway mark 1 bar if i've been driving under boost a fair bit. i dont think it should be creeping up like that, maybe thats just me and a hint of my paranoid 7M days showing through, but yeah... ideas?

Also noticed it spitting a little oil out the back when warming up in the morning. like oil + condensation drops? my 7M paranoia is setting in with that as well so i've just got a TK tester and i'll have a play on the weekend.

i just got new water hoses + radiator cap + thermostat and seals as well.. hopefully that'll fix the minor creeping.
