afm is opening dunno whether it is reading properly though
what i have noticed is that it sounds like a fucking lawn mower im gonna pull thing off and try and raise this idle
yeap, probably the AFM. I had the same problem right after my 20v conversion, and found out tht it was the leaking air box.its prob the air flow meter
or you have left the rubber pipe of the intake that sits under the blqck plenum that goes to the isc motor
its a common thing when people do conversions they forget about this pipe if they had to fuk round with intake
might be the ISCV too. make sure all vacuum hoses are correctly connected.
Dont think it's the TPS. engine wont die off frm idling even with a disconnected TPS.

has the enigne ran ok before
or is it a conversion and only just running the other day
if engine has sat for a year or so the injectors stick close sometimes
when u rev it does it run on all 4 cyls
the pipe is about 14 mm id
u cant miss it if u know 20vs
i think i know the pipe you're talking about, what do i with it? block her up?
and i might check the injectors again, but im getting firing on all 4 once it revs its alright, but when i let the throttle go it slows down and stalls, and it backfires through the intake, ie forces the afm shut, this to me says its either firing too early or the valves are shutting too late, checked the marks and they all line up, is there any way to manually adjust the idle? im only used to single TB setups with an idle adjust screw so 4 of the fuckers are a litttle strange
Mine was running rough like this, would run like shit, wouldn't idle, was all over the place. Sometimes it'd start run fine for a few seconds and then play up. Turned out a capacitor had leaked in the ECU and was making the ECU think that the car was cold (-40c) and so therefore the car was over fuelling and then dieing.
It's a long shot but worth a mention.
edit- This problem only occured when the car was sat up for a couple of months.
well skidz on the 1g that iscv pipe runs from iscv to th inlet pipe *after* the AFM.
if you dont hook it up the iscv aint getting what it needs.

yep i just figured that out, i had a blonde moment
now my issue is that the ecu pinouts only list the rso and rsc (where the iscv goes into ecu) for th auto ecu the manual doesnt have one ie no place that i can see for the iscv to go, do i just switch it to open? or what? edit* found em, ignore my random stupidity

ok fixed the iscv its now huffing and puffing and doing its own thang
new problem: no spark coil to dizzy is firing, but dizzy to plug aint going, rotor or cap? all i did was retard the timing a bit to see if that made a difference, clearly it has![]()
rotor is new cos i cant change it without taking the engine out![]()
Inside the cap, there is a graphite plug with a spring backing going into the top of the cap. Check that is still there, if you took the cap off, it could have gone missing.
Otherwise, you may have move the dizzy so that it fires while the rotor button is in limbo, rotate the dizzy back to where it was.

dont remember seeing a graphite plug.... or a spring for that matter
ill try messing around with advancing/retarding timing and report back
any other thoughts people?
The graphite plug pushes down onto the centre of the rotor button.

mmmk got a new dizzy cap from castle hill sent up, fitted that it fired first time, then died, now wont fire again, but if i pull the plugs out and ground them it fires WTF? its like the spark isnt strong enough to light the fuel, but its a factory engine on factory management with factory ignition
Flooded?? Try also turning the dizzy while you are cranking.
