Im with you on this one Gene, im in for a bit of fun and tryin to go quick aswell. But im pretty sure i wont be winning anything, so long as im havin fun
Im sure most people will agree with that, as none of us really have track cars, except for clint.
    Bring on the FUN!!!!!!

    Post Re: Motorkhana Interest?

OK, caught-up with some of you at the BBQ on Sunday, and there seemed to be some interest in the Motorkhana. Following-on from that, here's some more information:

Rang Andrew from Pitstop regarding the Combined Car Club Registry:
Basically, I have an application form which you would fill-in and send in along with the CAMS license application for it to be signed (so you can then send it off to CAMS). The CCCR fee is $30, and then you'd add the cost of whichever CAMS license you want (2NS or 2S).

So, for those of you wishing to keep costs down and not join another car club, this may be the go.

However, some car clubs such as All Fours and Rotaries and the WA Car Club charge $40-50, so if you want to also get some benefits from belonging to a club, you may still want to consider that. There are other clubs, these are just the one's I've been looking into.

I went down for a look at the MaxAction event on the weekend to see how it ran, etc., and it looked like the sort of thing we're looking at. For those interested, I'm thinking of entering the April 9 event in the PM session, and have indicated that there would probably be at least 4 of us looking for spots (i.e. myself, Rob, Matty and at least one other - Mitch, etc?). So, in order to do that, can those that are serious and ready to organise CAMS licenses by then, etc. confirm with me that they want to enter. I think there were 6 spots available for the PM session last time I had an update.

Can those who are definitely interested in the series starting in July let me know? I want to find out if you're looking at competing in all the events (6 in all). Then I can start trying to book our slots for that series. To gain an early bird discount, we'd need to pay before it starts, but that date and final prices for the second series haven't been finalised yet.

    Rob,

Here's the forms, etc. You can also give Andrew an email/call to clarify anything if you like, his details are in the newsletter as well as an explaination of his role.

I've attached the following ZIP files:

Membership and newsletter for the CCCR for obtaining a CAMS license. You need to fill in the membership form, fill in a CAMS license application form, and forward both with money to the address given. If you have any questions, give Andrew a call or go see him at the Pitstop bookshop. I think he also goes down to the MaxAction events sometimes, so you could see him there if you go along.

MaxAction entry form for the current series (we'll be entering the second series, which I don't have a form for yet). But if you'd like to join us for the April 9th PM session, feel free to send it in and register your interest. I'll do mine soon. They won't hold our spots unless we send in the form and register for it. If you do, can you let us know too, so we know you're on board.

MaxAction calendar of event dates/times, including the second series.

I'll be organising my CCCR or club membership and CAMS license in the next week or so, and putting in an application for the 9th of April. When the second series costs and entry form is available, I'll be looking to enter and pay for the whole series then, and let you know too.

More info on the CCCR membership...

If you send both the CCCR application and the appropriate completed CAMS license form to Andrew at the given address, along with payment for BOTH. Ideally, it makes it easier if there is a separate cheque/money order for the membership and the license as he'll send the CAMS application and payment on. But if you have to, I think he can work with a single cheque/money order.

He (CCCR) will then issue a temporary license that is valid for a month (if you're hoping to compete straight away). The CAMS license proper should arrive soon after, they have a 10-14 day turn-around. The CAMS license is valid for 12 months.

As for the MaxAction application, I understand that you should fill-in the form and send it to [email protected] as an email attachment (says on the form), and no signature is required at that stage. If you don't have a credit card, you can email them and ask for alternative methods. Or, if you prefer, let me know and if you give me the money I can send it off on my card. But it's probably easier to ask the other options first.

You can either wait for the CAMS license before submitting the MaxAction entry or probably just indicate that it's pending.

I've filled in my CCCR and CAMS forms, so once I get a $30 money voucher, I'll send them off. The CAMS form lets you pay by credit card, so for those of you yet to do it, that's one way to pay the CCCR and CAMS fees separately and not have to have 2 cheques/orders.

I've just sent off an email for the MaxAction application for the Round 4 April 9th PM session to book my spot. I'll just say CAMS license pending on it, etc. as per the attached sample (with data modified to protect my real information).

I filled it in using Excel, which will populate some fields automatically for you, so just work your way down from the top filling in the fields as you go. You'll notice some of the rest will be completed for you.

I've also mentioned about the CAMS licenses pending, that we're trying to book 4 spots for the April 9th, even though not all of you may be organised just yet, and enquired about booking/forms for the second series. So, I'll let you know if anything comes back from that.

For those wishing to enter the April 9th event, please submit your form as soon as you can. Here is the response I got regarding what's required and payment options if necessary:

    <quote>
    Welcome to the event!

Your entry form is just fine, well done! I look after class and handicap.
Alternative payment is either cheque, money order or cash always works too, however all of those need to reach me before the event. Some competitors catch up with me and pay the cash or even eftpos is possible when you catch up with me in Osborne Park when I'm there.
As we speak we have 5 more spots available for the PM session on April 9th, so I would need the entry forms of your friends first of all. When it comes down to the payment, the cash person can still take a little time.
As for the club membership card and the CAMS licence, I only need to see them at the event.
Entry forms for the second series haven't been created yet, however if you keep an eye on the MaxAction Group (you are a member of the group, aren't you?), I will release them there by email when available.
    <unquote>

So, get to it if you want a spot on the 9th :-)

Matty - Yes. You, me and Rob are currently definites for the 9th. Mitch may try and enter then, but is definite for the July series, and has one or two others that may be for the second series. And there were a couple more at the BBQ and on the list who were interested, so I'll see if they eventuate for the 9th or July series. Remember, if I don't know, let me know! Shadow_Z andd Eldar, you still keen on some/all?

If you know anyone else from the BBQ on Sunday that is, make sure they let me know.

I am keen, although my car is without a head till wednesday, which needless to say, coupled with working the hours i do, a pain in the ass.

I just had a skim read through, but ill go through and have a detailed read of all your info as soon as its not my sisters birthday.

Im rather impressed with the amount of effort and info your putting in, great work

    Wink Re: Motorkhana Interest?

Thanks Eldar, just trying to get things sorted so we can enjoy the real fun and not miss out. All this forms and parting with money stuff is a pain, but necessary, especially when trying to organise a group of people

I sent my CCCR application and CAMS application off to Andrew (CCCR) yesterday with $30 money order and credit details on the CAMS form. So, that should be me sorted for that soon.

And I'm booked for the April 9th event too, having emailed the MaxAction application off on Wednesday.

Sounds like your cars getting a bit of work at the moment, but if you do want to go along on the 9th, I encourage you to at least get that form in soon. That's the most likely thing that could cause people to miss out.

April is still a way off, so gives people a little time to tweak, repair, etc. cars if necessary. No pressure though, it's a practice run in my mind, just don't want those who want to do it to miss out by not getting a form in early enough.

I fixed a rattling alternator on my TA22 yesterday myself too - 3rd time! At least with a new bolt it should not go loose again. Bloody design! If things (i.e. money) allow, I wouldn't mind a brake/suspension upgrade before April or July, but don't fancy my chances

    Loctite is teh bomb!

Like i said, ill give it a solid read through and ill fill out whats needed accordingly.

my boss finally came through and paid me for the last couple weeks work, so the account balance has soared, allowing me to finally do stuff, good, as it was getting somewhat low!

Should have some time to spare tomorrow arvo.
