ask on ns dude
but have ya got the speed sensor hooked up? ummmm theres not really much else i would think
I know its a toyota forum but you guys are full of knowledge
Done a conversion on an S15 to Manual 6 speed.
All is good
Done the neutral wiring so we can start the car,
Done reverse lights
Was driving with Auto Ecu in the car but the problem is Auto Ecu idles at 2500rpm when cold. And wants to stall at the lights or letting the revs down in neutral.
So I have two Manual Ecu (just to make sure) that I tried from other s15s but everytime I plug them in my car the engine light blinks and the engine just cuts out after 3 seconds or so.
Help. Are we missing something?

Yeah I asked on ns already. Those guys arent knowledgeable enough.
Yeah teh speed signal is already hooked up.
I get revs and speed
Could there be two different harnesses for auto and manual? I say this cause maybe there are some un tapped wires left over in the auto harness...
Also, my car is carbie, so lot less issues, most things were mechanical and easy enough to fix or seal off... I just removed my kickdown cable. But does yours use something similar to a kickdown but in an electrical annoy form? lol
Duno, hopefully this can be of some help...
Cheers,
Jase
i can look at your car if you want
i have done abit on the s15s and also done alot of wiring on s15 sr20ts into other car
leave the car with me and ill fix it
prob cannot give u exact quote to how much it will be due to not knowing exactly
what u have and have not wired up and what is causing idle ot be hi
i have the s15 workshop manual so i should be able to sort it out
when u fit the manual ecu then its not talking to the auto ecu so maybe thats y the light comes on
the auto has its own ecu on most nissans
The Auto TPS has two plugs. The Manual one only has one. it still has the auto one on there. Would this be a problem?
Im not sure what tps stands for right now cause im to hungover to think properly. But it might be the kinda plug you need to short out in order for the switch to be open/closed. I had to put a 14amp fuse in my *insert correct word*fingy switch, when going from auto to manual to close/open the switch... Its what tells the car wether its in neutral or park in order to let it turn on... Makes it think that the car is always in park or neutral. So it will always crank over just like a manual...
I hope this makes sense... *arrrgghh need pain killers*
Cheers,
Jase
lol thanks Jase. TPS = Throttle Position Sensor
The neutral has been bypassed so the car can start already.
Might be a security issue? Does Nats communicate with the ecm for an 'ok to run' state?
Otherwise sounds related to the trans computer still being installed.

My mate had some problems with putting a power fc onto his s13 sr20 due to the loom being auto. Cause of this some pinouts were switched ie manual and auto pins were opposite to each other and cause the power fc was for a manual it was doing all sorts of weird things. They switched some pins round and it worked fine.
Maybe something like this is the same for yours?
See if you can find the wiring diagrams for the auto and manual computers and see if all pin positions are the same, if they arent then i guess change them to what the manual ones are and see how that is. Worst case, if its not that then its easy to revert the pins back to the auto configuration and then youll know its not that.
Another thing, if its giving you an engine light then its probably throwing up a code. See if u can get the code off it and find out what its telling you. Might help with narrowing down where to look.

Daily Driver: Red Ae93 Project: My TA22 - now with 3s-gteD is for Disco, E is for Dancing
the power fc pins needed to get modified are nothing to do with auto to manual
they need to get modified if its an aussie s15 due to the aussie ones having different pinouts to the jap s15 ecus
Thanks Leeroy.Originally Posted by LeeRoy
Sideshow would the above be a possible scenario?
I have tried a new AAC valve.
Manual TPS
Manual Ecu again with both of those items in.
Same results.
theres a trick when fititng power fcs into aussie s15s not many know about it
the pin outs from auto to manual are same the only diff is 4 or 5 wires from the engine ecu goto the auto ecu sort of communication wires
as for running the engine im sure they are ther same
did you change anyhting else
did u remove anyhting and put it back on apart from gbox
for the engine to idle hi there must be air goin past somewhere
unplug idle motor
block throttle off
your problem might not be electrical
bit hard to say what it coul dbe without looking at it
newer cars these days are getting harder and harder to modify
s15s speed signals come from the abs so shit like this causes headaches when u start doin mods
take it to nissan they might be cheaper than what i would charge but they might take twice as long to solve hehehehehehehehe
sideshow I live in Campbelltown. Do you come out this way? I have the Manual Ecu with me.
well i have driven to melbourne and to brisbane so i gguess i could come to campbelltown
but theres afew weeks wait at moment
i might be able to look at it one arvo if you meet me at sss automotive at girraween and it be 50 bucks cheaper cause i wont charge call out fee
