i fabricate any size muffler you want out of stainless 1.2-2 mm . common size is125 mm round and 450mm long they sound wicked and last forever .i have one on my 1jz hilux and everyone wants their bus to sound like it.if they are mounted as far forward as possible preferably on the end of your dump pipe no other mufflers are reqd. $200 freight included [unpolished]

I have a full 3" Trust exhaust, with a high flow 3" cat, and its very quite on idle, and has a very smooth nice sounding tone to it when the car is driving, no droning at all, very jap style 1jz sounding. Under full boost whene the gate opens, sounds a bit louder tho.![]()
But a very nice system.
although im running on 3.5" exhaust i guess i could share my bits too...
running on straight piping with only a RSR Nvidia muffler... silent mode all the time .. only hears my engine fan running and the turbo spooling
Drift Drift Drift and drift untill getting high fever...
Rehashing an old thread here, but i'm actually wanting to make my car LOUDER! I'm using the same exhaust system that I had with the 7M in. Now that the 1J is in, i've noticed that it doesn't have that high rpm growl that most 1J's seem to have.... and i want it
I took it down to my local zorst shop on the weekend and had my hotdog removed and it made no difference at all. I suspect its the muffler.
The exhaust setup is 2.5" ebay twin dumps into 3" mild steel. 3" high flow cat and 3" no-name oval offset in, centre out muffler.
Anyone got any videos of their cars so that i can check the exhaust note?

go a cannon. Or if you want MOTO loud get a blitz nur spec like mine. It'd fkn break your ear drums! lol
You want thin metal and a small walled cannon.![]()
I wanna shut mine up, on a side note. Thinking a full new zorst might be in order... when I can be bothered paying for it.![]()

Lukey 3" Turbo muffler comes to mind.

I hate the look of cannon's and would much prefer an oval muffler. I was just looking at the magnaflow website... anyone had experience with them?
I'll go check out the Lukey turbo now. Thanks Lance!

probably won't help but here is a vid of mine

3" dump pipe, decat, no muffler![]()
Thats the growl i'm after... got any videos of it with a muffler?
Dan
just get any straight flow muffler of your likings , hammer out the silencer and replace it with straight pipe without any holes in... there you will have a muffler and the growl of no muffler
Drift Drift Drift and drift untill getting high fever...
With normal 3" straight through muffler you can barely hear it. That is why i have it removable. Even with no muffler I can't hear my car over noisy v8's at the drags. Check my youtube account for vids. I can't remember what I have up there. May be an incar vid with muffler from ages ago. 13.5@115 I think it is.
Seconded. They do wonders for making 1J's quiet.Originally Posted by -==L=a=N=c=E==-

Mild steal systems FTW! Mild steal has better resonance properties, my car has an HKS hyper mufler on it, it sounds nice, but not overpowering, its smooth and easy on the ears, just perfect. Not a huge fan of the jap cannon on the back though...
