ok just got the measurements. from pedal pivot to the pedal is 12", from pedal pivot to the fork hole is 2", which mean i have a 6:1 ratio pedal. but it just don't apply enough force to the calipers. did i missed out something?

I'm planning a remote booster stup on my 1400 aswell.
Moving the existing master and booster and mounting it under the bin at the back.

Was thinking of using a Clutch master on the brake pedal pushing a clutch slave of similar diameter on the brake booster.
Then the brake booster will push the brake master as usual but from another place.

So it will be a Clutch master on the brake pedal.
Then a clutch slave on the pedal side of the booster.
Using a clutch master and slave of similar diameter will give me a 1:1 ratio from pedal to remote booster.

    Would that work fine ??
    Thanks

Try doing a search on the physics of hydraulics
if my memory sereves me correctly
to over come your braking issues you need to reduce the diameter of your master cylinder
it has been a long time since I did the research ( pre internet) but I am prety sure that is the theory

Remote booster is an easy way to go PBR here do them or at least used to as many an early holden and even my first corolla had one. Basically you can mount it anywhere..

You guys with remote boosters... any photos of your setups?
Sounds like a possible option for my UZA28 so i can move the engine back that bit further.

Dragging up this old thread. There doesn't seem to be anything dedicated to remote boosters, just lots of questions and answers spread about the place. Good topic for a technical or "how-to" FAQ, by someone who knows brakes well?

I came across this unit while looking for a dual circuit booster, anybody used one?

They're available here, and many other places too no doubt.

    Cheers.

or go booster-less with the right sized master cylinders for front and rear, with a floor mounted pedal box etc.

I've considered installing two master cylinders with a balance adjuster. I'll probably need them, 4 pot AP copies going on the front and MGF upright, axle, etc for the rear, initially at least, the MGF caliper is a heavy iron beast and I've got some Nissan alloy calipers to fit later, just need to get a handbrake working with them. It just worries me a little that I'll end up going through a number of, smaller and smaller, master cylinders until I get the right feel and pedal travel. Might be a collection worth framing .

What's the advantage of a floor mounted pedal box?

    Cheers.

floor mounted box witht he master cylinders on it takes the master cylinder out of a cluttered engine bay.
basically easiest way of going twin masters with a balance bar is with a premade unit, if you are sourcing this through a good performance shop they should be able to give you a calculations sheet that will help you size your master cylinder to suit the caliper. I know my brake guru showed me one, but I ended up using his calipers not what I had.
