Default A341DE to work without ECU?

    Hello All,

I have an A341DE and am wondering if it's possible to make the gearbox shift automatically without ECU telling it to. I used to have an old A340 in my MA61 and that ran via pressure to change gears. I wonder if I can get that principle to work on the A341DE?

    Cheers.

You had an A43DL in the MA61, which is purely a hydraulic box (presuming you are talking about the factory 5M-E MA61 box here)

ALL the auto's ending in "E" (A43DE, A340E, A341E) need a computer to make them shift automatically.

You can get a cheap box to shift them manual via buttons, but you need code to make them shift automatically.

im putting together a manual shift kit for the a340e at the moment. since all the relevant sensors are already going to be measured for manual mode, its only a matter of putting together some extra code to config a auto shifting sequence.

might not be as smooth as the toyota shifting though

So alternatively I can't swap valve bodies from a A341 with one that is 100% hydraulic operated if there is such a thing... Driving with manual shift buttons would be deadly if my mum takes my car up to the shops (not for mum but the gearbox)

    Cheers.

I haven't heard of an A340 or an A341 ever existing.

    Only A340E's and A341E's.

Cool... I'll do more research to see if the box can be made into a full hydraulic.
