I have $5 on 170 rwkW.
ok i have had 45mm quads on and have gone up to 47 mm quads picked up 10kws. this friday ,im going back on with 50mm quads and will see if we pick up more power or loose power and also see if the power starts later and also the tractive effort as well ,stay tuned and i will let you guys know how it goes ,good or bad
I have $5 on 170 rwkW.
I'll include GST and put $5.50 on 174kw, with a slight loss below 4500rpm. I swear I don't have a gambling problem.
did the 47's loose any midrange?

no stewy, in fact we pick up more power and tractive effort over the 45mm
with 47mm tractive effort is
4000 rpm 2800 N 68kws at the back wheels
4500 rpm 2800 N 76kws
5000 rpm 3050 N 96kws
5500 rpm 3100 N 108kws
6000 rpm 3200 N122kws
6500 rpm 3100 N 132kws
7000 rpm 3100 N 138kws
7500 rpm 3150 N 152kws
8000 rpm 3100 N160kws
8500 rpm 3050 N162 kws
8800 rpm 3000 N165 kws
also it doesnt get below 4500 rpm on the race track and red line has been set to 8600 rpm even thou it still is making power beyond this ,but wont to keep it in 1 pie![]()

ce
that is one helluva flat torque curve!!!
bloody good effort!!!
\/\/\/\/ oh!!![]()
hmm.... at what lift does port flow start to taper off? (just out of curiosity? no need to be specific
)

forgot to tell you the inlet valves are 35.5 mm and the exhaust are 30.1mm ,so they are big mothers ,and cams are 540 thou lift and 500 thou on exhaust
That is mighty impressive! Those power figures in conjunction with that flat torque would put a lot of turbo boys to shame!!
It certainly would, would compete extremely well with the turbo IPRA guys, since they are limited to about 320-330hp at the fly with the 36mm restrictors. Im extremely impressed.

Can I ask what size the port is on the intake manifold,The side that mates up to the throttle body.Going from 45mm to 50mm is a huge jump I wonder if the port size was matched to the 45mm throttle size the air flow (speed) might be better ?
Given that this engine is extremely well developed, and that the port matching is extremely good (from what ive seen) and the jump from 45>47mm that the issue isnt air speed into the cylinders, but simply what a 47mm throttle can flow. Also given that the combined surface area (inlcuidng stem) of the 35mm valves would be a fair whack larger than the throttle i would say that a 50mm throttle would be preferable than increasing the air speed.

-takai - I just wondered as I am building 3sge for IPRA vic at the moment. My manifold has a 45mm opening and my throttles are 45mm. My manifold could possibly be taken out to 47mm but not 50mmEven though I have a set of 50's sitting at home

vvttii xyz whatever it is called was hooked up Glenn?? (going by the torque curve - er lack of a curve )![]()
stewy the flow rates. the head was flowed in 25inches of water done by head stud development this is inlet

and on dyno run tonight
the air temp going in was 40 c![]()

and we picked up a bit but got more mide range some how
next thing we did was take off back exhaust and tried it to see, went up another 10kws so looks like i have to go up to 3inch rear exhaust from extractors ,so will get this done this week ,rear mandrel to back including a muffler and back on agian but hope its not as hot as tonight was ,so another tune next week hopefully
wow, they are some very pretty numbers!!
