you can get either ground to suit. I used a 3 or 4k cam when i converted mine to soild.
Only did this in case i wanted to go back to hyro which i ended up doing.
I have checked the FAQ and couldn`t find it so here goes.
Before i start pulling everything apart i just whant to know if doing the solid cam conversion you use the 4k solid cam?
lifters and pushrods are not a problem will get custom, the cam on the other hand i need info as a billet is not available. Or do i just grind the hyd cam bigger?

Kickn why use custom lifters and rockers? Have a look at the 5K lifter thread in this tech section.
check the total lengths of the cams befor eplonking them in... i have suspicions that different length cams were used along the way (what with different depth plugs at the back.. and interference sometimes encountered)

The difference in length is enough to lose camshaft endfloat and have the cam rubbing on the cam plug.Originally Posted by kickn5k
Always check that the cam goes in below the block face and when its hard up against the cam plug and accordingly check the END FLOAT of the cam.
