WaynO! .. cheers for joining the convo!..

I'm definately leaning towards garage / construction theme.. has much the same props anyway and would be easiest to pull off.
I guess you are right.. if someone else was doing the same thing - how are we to know?.. It just happened to be out of luck that someone informed me, otherwise we'd still be go ahead.
Dunno if the AutoSalon organisers would mind?..

I've found myself eyeing off local street cones and contruction signage ... I'm gonna have to set aside a night to go and "collect" some props..

Well the garage theme was what i wanted to do last year but it never quite got there haha I had some killer ideas so perhaps i could list them again on here and see what people think.

Basically it revolved around a Garage slash Showroom theme. You have a few cars on one side setup around a showroom theme like they do in big dealerships very clean very blingin and then perhaps a fake wall and on the other side this fully tricked out workshop complete with jacks, compressors, tools and fluids of irnaging sorts (ewww not those sorts of fluids). The workshop side will let some of the not so good painted cars get away with actually fitting in the show! Shows both sides of the modified car scene AND I'm sure if other clubs are doign garage they wont have a dedicated showroom floor! Hell if your up for the show room floor i already have some blinging beaut mirror like tiles for the floor! LOL

This of course can be fleshed out a hell of alot more!

    ...

couldn't we combine all 3, show room, garage, and strippers...the 3 important components of every car enthusiast.

    hmm.. I like the idea..
building a wall and gettin it there tho? might be a bit of a hassle.
and also - it kind of sections off the display, could be 2 different car clubs for what people know.
    Still leaning towards contruction/garage theme..
Would be nice to have some imput from other entrants.. coFF33, Matty, Dean etc?

im really liking the showroom/garage idea wayno had, maybe all the perfect cars on outside and the ones "being worked on" in the middle. And of course a blow up mechanic in overalls crushed under the rear of my Crown MWUAHAHA maybe with some danger tape
Im not keen on the wall idea, but using the Pristine cars as a border around the "cars with character/bunky's) i do like

    Matty

P.S. however if there are tools and crap all laying around i may have to start modifying stuff while im there

hmm.. I don't think we have that many Perfect cars

but man crushed under rear of Crown I like!

Matty - would we be able to borrow things from your garage such as Bling Garage engine crane, various tools etc.. ?
we won't leave your spanners laying around tho - those things are expensive to replace

love the garage theme. as I said before.
engine crane, engine stand with my spare 3sgte on it, dude being crushed by the crown. some of the cars with 2 wheels off, air comps, rattle guns on the dash of the car. maybe remove a seat or two. etc etc

    keep this one going.

also we need to get these shirts done.
i'm leaving for work tomorrow morn so i'll be back in two weeks and can do the running around for ya damo. just get them done at the "embrodierMe" place in malaga. good enough! get some numbers of how many then call the place then collect the monies.

    catcha.

remember - we still have to get all this stuff there somehow. I don't think a 3SGTE is something you can just stick in the passenger seat as you drive in..
BTW, I know its just all part of your plan to get Matty to rebuild your engine cleverly disguised as part of our display

... but the rest of the suggestions are certainly do able

I spoke to my sister about the theme to get a non car person's view.
    And she suggested
:a whole bunch of bolts and nuts.
:stacked up tyres and wheels. (got some spare at home already stacked about shoulder height.)
:ring spanners; tied to rope as a hanging decoration sort of thing. tied from point to point like streamers.
:get some company banners, (shell, BP, oil company, tyre company, etc.)
:those cheese boards, with the outline of tools on them...

Shutup damo, you spoiled my plan. I was going to tell him to just take it home with him after the show. Now how am I going to sneak the engine there....

I got my spare 3SFE, I could take a few bits off of that a leave them around the place. Pistons etc.
Does anyone have a large tool chest that can be used?
make a work bench that can serve as a stand for DJ(??? if damo is doing that.???) gear. and hides our eskys and food stuffs.
maybe a white sheet that has oily hand prints all over it. matty and loz could make it (sexy oily fun, LOL. No butt prints matty.)
Since OST seem to have a lot of cars suffering from BHG. leave the dead ones hanging up.
Spare bumpers, old head lights. in other words anything out the back of matty's house.

    Ok there's my $2.50.
    comment's?

Now when I said wall I'm not talking about building one with bricks and mortar, now that would be construction LOL We MAY not have enough showy cars to go around the border but i know we definately got atleast 3 enough for a small showroom on one side setup with a couch (for us to crash on later in the day), Ill set the xbox up to run out of the back of my boot with the LCD mounted to my strut brace haha The 1st gen on ramps in the middle complete with oddles of smoked under the bonnet again haha and the 4stair supra (sorry dont know the guy who bought it) on the other side, complete the picture with some toyota and trd boardings, spec boards, the toyota tin man, some nice funky lights and maybe some rope around the outside to stop people from touching the cars.... PERFECT!!

THEN for the "wall" we could setup the OST banner to go across the top tied to poles on each side. so it looks like a wall but not really as you can see through the section where you would normally walk. DJ boys perhaps positioned under the banner or to one side depends on where the convention centre walls are if were even up aganist a wall.

On the garage side you have say a line of cars down one side, bonnets open perhaps with various tools scattered (were get some $2 cheapy tools from super cheap, actually I have a snapped ring spanner we can use haha), the crown in one corner pimpin away with the back end crushing some guy head with helmet on, get a skull and put inside the helmet! Someones car jacked up with the wheels off, place extra tyres stacked up in one corner (anyone got any R-Comps?) and the list goes on....

Oh yeah and as for transport we could either hire a truck or borrow a mates ute or something to cart all the gear in as you are allowed to drive setup vehicles there on the friday and pickup on the sunday!

And the only issue with scattering nuts, bolts, tools etc is health and safety we would need to have a fence or some sort for them to allow it! Saw someone do skittles at final battle a few years ago... yeah not fun he could in big trouble apprently!

I dont know about shirts as I already got one but I would love to get some black overalls from somewhere if were doing this garage theme, anyone know where you can buy them?? And if we want a fuel pump Id be happy to help out ram raiding a joint!

Ok just wanted to run this by everyone else first! Do we wish to get some promo ladies for "promo" work for OST? We can have them wear overalls or something workshopish perhaps, hand out OST flyers to promote the club and of course with OST logo they could spent the weekend getting photos taken by the public. I do have some already lined up that are looking for promo work at Autosalon so lets us know what you all think about the idea!

    Cheers!
