No doubt you can find one on eBay or something.
But yeah, if an old-school approach is what you're after then an old-school engine is probably the way to go. Something like a 302W - it's small, light, has massive aftermarket support, and will run without a hint of electronic assistance. Oh and I'm sure it will burble too.

383 FTW. im so tempted to buy one in a ute at the moment making 570 horsepower...but alas...im broke.
the BIG V8's are surprisingly not much bigger that a 1UZ, and Cubic Inches are just so fun![]()

A place called csl in palmaston north make the best single carbed manafold my dad had one on his stockcar there better than any otherone ive seen
This for a 1UZ? or are we talking Aussie Iron now?
Yeah I was thinking of a 351 windsor, app they're 'thiner' then the clevland. I'd just love to drop in a carbbed toyota 8 thats all. Then it'd really be ALL different instead of just the shell.
I'd go a differnt cam if I were to use the 1UZ but then pushrods win there as well. One cam is alot cheaper then 4! lol
Particularly if it you run a Holley and tune it too rich.Originally Posted by Norbie
Windsor FTW. Clevo = boat anchor.
i'd just buy one of those under bonnet supper chager kits for one there aussie made and come with everything computer headers belt just bolt on and go racing then youve got a good base for more mods causwe the computers fullyn tuneable
The reason that the 1UZ is fairly large when compared to the bigger old school V8s is the twin cam heads - they make it taller and wider than it should be.
One thing that pushrod V8s have going for them is that they are fairly compact (for their massive displacements that is).
Compare a 1UZ short block with a 350 chev and youll see how much smaller it really is.

Thanks to James Cameron's Terminator films, we know that robots are stronger, faster, tougher and more Austrian than the rest of us.
Yeah, not DCOE's but IDF's.
Ive seen a Holley Manifold, no emission controls though (ie hard core ppl only!)

Hello.
Why would anyone carby a 1uz? If you need help getting rid of extra fuel, i'll happily escort it to my tank![]()
i dont understand how carby can have a better result then a properly tuned efi
It can't. Carby's cannot match the efficiency of EFI. But this thread isn't for any debates... is it?
