Well to get my 4age timing sprocket off, i had to drill and tap two threads in it and use a crank pulley puller. But that will mean u will need a new sprocket. Once thats off i guess you could pull out the crank.
I managed to remove my crank with the front cover and front timing belt gear still on but I will ultimately need to take it off.
How do you go about doing it? This is the bit I'm talking about.
We moved it a bit with a screwdriver, but figured it probably wasn't what was supposed to happen.

I've never had too much trouble with most Toyota pulleys. If it moves a bit and jams, put it right back on, and check that the key isn't getting cocked over on an angle.
Give me a call. I have a selection of pullers that will do the job and I only live 1000 metres away from you..
you could a puller on it.
or just use the screwdriver. for wat its worth the first time was the hardest when i tried to get mine off. cleaned up the crank and inside of pulley and havnt had issues since.

GT - May do. Althoughh the engine is 20,000 metres from me. :-)
Did the harmonic balancer come loose? The crank snout looks a bit secong hand.
no, ironically it didn't come loose, but soething has gone on.
the crank bolt was WAY loose, but the harmonic blanacer took two guys on a pulley to get off.
Mine came off ok... it was the balancer that was a PITA!!! I have to remove it again too as I need to get my oil pump off![]()

Hah.
Shortly I will have THREE.. Surely atleast one will work
:-)
I already replaced my oil pump when I rebuilt the engine... everything is perfect, apart from the 120 psi oil presure at 3k :O
The only bit I didn't bloody rebuild was the presure relief valve! -and now it apears to be jammed shut.. to get at that I need to take the lower cam cover off... and more likely then not the oil pump housing (Depends if I can unbolt the relief valve in situ or not).
I replaced the pump with a brand new toyota OEM one (even though the old one seemed ok) it cost me £23 from my local dealer. which I think is worth it for the piece of mind
I am very much for trying do things "properly" and not cut corners etc or make false economies with reusing important parts.... I am just mad at myself after being so fussy about EVERYTHING to over look that one part, - its literally the only bolt I didn't undo and go over and I have no excuse or anyone to blame for it...

23 pound????
thats unbelievable.
i got quoted $600
can you buy me one and send it to me.
does that include the pulley?
was the 120 PSI hot or cold engine?
and its just been rebuilt so she will be a bit tight...maybe not that tight tho
mine sees 80PSI cold at 1500RPM
but when hot about 5 PSI at idle.
and if you park on a hill i wont get oil pressure. fucking oil pumps![]()
