I am having all sorts of fun putting a weber 32/36 onto my 18rc. Can anyone tell me if I leave the heat shield/spacer on there or do I take it off being as I have the adapter plate to go on. it is the same thickness as the heat shield/spacer so i dont know if to leave them both on or not. Cheers.

From memory by 32/36 18r/c didn't have a heat shield. I'll try and dig out some old pics for ya if I've till got em
My 18R-C did have the heat shield, i use it to make an adapter plate for the 32/36, so i kept it and put it to good use.

Both of them had the redline manifold adaptor plate.

yeah mate they sure are. I went through some old posts here on the 18rc 32/36 and have found out a lot about the jetting of them. mine is 140 primary 135 secondary and the air mix jets are 165 primary and 180 secondary. Going by what I have read here i need biger main secondary and smaller air mix jets. It dont matter what gear I am in if I hold the throttle still the car surges and backs off all the bloody time. The only way to stop it is to floor it . At present time the car has no more grunt that the factory carb. So it looks to me I will be playing with the jetting to some degree. Cheers bro.![]()
