Ick. 22R = gutless and thirsty, just like the 21R! Be a BIT more ambitious!

thats actually a fair bit of work, you need the ecu, wire it all up, an efi fuel pump....may as well get something better for an efi motor with lots of work

the hilux is not an efi version, it is carbied...just called a 22r

what are you after and what are you willing to spend are the keys here.

^^^ nooo ! lol as said do something where you might notice the difference
id say get new mounts made up and perhaps, a 1G motor, either GTE or GZE would be very nice for it, is their a budget involved ?
there are many nice engines that could be used.

The Celica is in need for a reco ,the engine has had it, i was thinking of a EFI engine. I have a good leg of cash for the conversion or new engine, its off the road and i have another car to get me to work this is just my toy i have had for 10 years.

in that case, do something worth while - a few suggestions:

    3sgte - 2.0L turbo 4

    1ggte - 2.0L twin tubo 6

1ggze - 2.0L supercharged 6 (these are a little harder to come by)

1jzgte - 2.5L twin turbo 6 - a bit more work to make it fit lengthwise, but lots of bang for buck

speak to www.importbitz.com - john is his name - he is a good help and can order what you like....good price and good service. say blake with the v8 supra sent ya.

if not, sss automotive in sydney are good im told..

edit: - good idea, i too would much prefer a 2.0L 4 as opposed to a 2.0L 6 - and these 3sgtes have a plethora of aftermarket goodies...and handle power and upgrades really well. not to mention theres no room issues as opposed to fitting a 6 cylinder donk.

GT4 celicas, st165s st185s and st205s, all have the 3sgte, this is a very nice RWD conversion..
all depending on what you want to spend all 3 are pretty readily available, but also require some fabrications.

also Just Jap in sydney arnt to bad, and there are a few places in QLD that can get you any of the mentioned motors, just cant remember at the moment names.

I thought that 3S RWD conversions are a PITA? If they aren't get the crossmember out of an SA63. Mounts should bolt straight up methinks.
