Fantastic post JZA70R but I'll just make some corrections for you.

6. PRACTISE PRACTISE PRACTISE your launches before you come. I had my supra for near on 2 years before i took it down, and realised i had the car this whole time and still didnt know how to launch properly on the night!... very annoying. Doesn't matter if your auto or manual you need to be comfortable with launching the car CONSISTANTLY of the start line because its the most important part of the race (i believe).

Unless its a warm day the track will be less grippy than a nice hotmix strip of traffic lights.
I was getting much less traction at the plex than I do on the roads.

8. Leaving on the green light IS NOT IMPORTANT.
ALOT of people dont know this but the 'Timer' does not start counting when the christmas lights go green. And it doesnt matter if your opponent gets to the end of the track before you it doesnt mean he wins as long as your E.T is lower.
You can literly sit on the start line as long as you want once the lights have turned green, and still win the race at the end as long as your e.t was lower

You are correct in saying it doesn't matter when you leave, your reaction time DOES NOT count towards your ET, but first over the line 'wins' the drag.

9. if you cant get your best time for the night within 10 passes i would call it a night and retire your poor car. i think some people can get their personal best withine one or two passes and then just go home, but if your expecting a certain time and cant get it within 10 passes, something is generally wrong, you or the car. so just call it a night and save and further problems.

You'll be lucky to get 10 passes unless its really quiet.
10 passes will put a lot of stress on the car. I'd probably call it quits after 6 unless you've stuffed up all 6 passes.

10. If your bringing a friend, they are allowed a 'Pitcrew Pass' which is only issued if asked for... basically this allows you to enter the staging lanes when your friends car is staging/racing. This is good to know if you want to get some good filming done nice and close.
basically what you have to do is, when the driver gets there band put on, you ask if you could have a pit crew pass, you need to supply I.D and reference which car you came with, then you get a band too, which you show to officials near the booth at the bottom of the bridge to let you out onto the track area.

Is this for being really close to the cars that are about to race?
Interesting, I might have to do something about that one night.

hehe no worries...

in regards to practising your launches, i was emphasising more towards getting a feel for the car rather than implying the road produces a similar tractive surface as the motorplex does.

last time i went, it wasnt the busiest night, but by no means quiet, i managed 16 passes before they wouldnt let me back in hehe.

And in regards to the pitcrew pass, it allows you to enter the area past the chains that are keeping waiting cars at bay... all the way to the start line.
Typically i will sit on the low profile wall JUST behind the christmas tree.

Yeah, I know, I was just saying that most people thinks the track is really grippy.
