Good to see others are having issues on the drive home (sorry to hear about cooking the 1JZ though...)

I had some serious drivetrain vibrations on the way home last time.
Got under the car on the weekend and it turned out a few of the driveshaft bolts had come loose

yeah i know, i put it back on for him... seemed a bit wierd, i pulled up and asked what was going on and they were just sitting there and didnt even have the bonnet up.... its hard to miss a disconnected BOV, especially if its leaning on your turbo.. F#$K that bastard was hot.. it must have just happened just before i pulled up to help... seriously some people are a bunch of tossers... 4 180's drove past and didnt even ask whats up.. fkn inconsiderate wankers.. anyway good to hear they made it back..

JCMF- yeah my last run was against you.. good race.. real close at the end...

Haha, don't look at me, I got a 2.6 second 60 footer too, and that was my best of the night also. I did a 4 grand dump and still couldn't break the tyres into enough wheelspin to stop it bogging down.

i think my problem was my bald tyres, i launched it from 4 grand on the last run, but eased off the clutch, it bogged down a little but as soon as the clutch was all the way out it got wheelspin.. i just couldnt win.. anything above 4grand and it would put on a smoke show.. anything below and it would bog down... the only thing that saved me was good top end power...

what was your terminal speed for that run.. mine was 101mph..

98MPH from memory. I ran 100MPH when I did the 14.9. You almost had me at the end there.

I guess I shouldn't expect much more out of a dead stock 24 year old engine.
It was great to catch up with everyone again. Sorry to hear people had problems on the way home.
I will be expecting a large improvement once the 1J goes in!

stomps: depending on tyres I probably wouldn't go with 14's. If you want to run drag radials like MT ET streets I would go with 15's or 16's as there are generally more available.

If you are talking slicks then 15's are the go but remember you need to have a bias ply front (skinnies usually) and these as well as the wheels aren't cheap. That is why I am going with street tyres for the time being. 225/70 15 simex light truck as used by Ms-75 for an 11.2@130 odd mph

Stomps just to give you an idea... I ran a 14.03 @ 100 mph with a crap 2.2 sixty footer time... but with the horspower your claiming you should have even more mph than that...

What times were you running with your auto?

That's still a good 0.4 seconds under what Stomps or I managed. How much do you think your car has? Granted I have less weight than you, I trapped 100MPH too.

heavy cars trapping 100 mph SHOULD be around the low 14 second bracket.

i was making 247 whp when i ran those times, and the car was more suited to a race track than it was drag let me tell you.
