Just use Google and add "site:toymods.net/forums" to the end of your query.
ie: 1g site:toymods.net/forums
I think the restriction on short words for the forum search is very annoying and it makes it hard to find a bucket load of things....
A lot of the names for car components are abbreviated to very short names... Such as ABV or ECU. Or what about trying to search for a fault code? Say 'Fault Code 51' only actually searches for 'Fault Code'. The old forums didnt have this restriction.
Some might argue that with short words it will make the search results to broad. But that why we put things like 'Fault Code' to go with it. It's frustrating when I have to goto google to find somthing thats on the forum already.
With that said, I really do think these forums are a wealth of information and I would be lost without them... But like all wealth it can be somtimes hard to acquire![]()

Yes, there is a configuration option, the problem is that once you drop down the limit, the database search index will balloon because it will index words such as:
- are
- the
- yes
- was
This will eat into disk space as well as slow the server down. That's why we haven't enabled it.
For now, Google works, so please use that.

I believe we looked into the possibility of excluding certain 3 letter words like ABS, GT4, and numerous others, but there has always been an issue that stopped it.
That google search is awesome, thanks +rep.

Original thread where this was discussed.
If in doubt power out
another thing i've found that works is to use a wildcard to make it 4 letters.
So if im searching GT4, ill use GT4* which most times works.

perhaps add a canned Google search facility on the search page?
Mmmm... Just as I suspected, the abbreviation "FTW" is used way too many times on Toymods!
