whats wrong with your current engine? Could you repair it? A few years back now when I first got into cars my corolla spun a main bearing. The reco drive in, drive out was about $3K, thats for a 7afe.
It may be the case that I need to replace the 3sge in my st162.
What kind of cost am I looking at for the motor?
Anyone have ideas on installation labour if I remove my existing motor??

Well it's hardly a conversion.. so you might get a better response in the general car talk section.
As for a price call some wreckers around your area and gauge a price off them, they'll often even install it for you for a bit extra. Also keep an eye on the trading post, and this site as they pop up from time to time. The other option would be to call some importers and get some prices for a gen2 3sge
I am the sun
cost of engine crane (hire for a day if you work hard enough), sockets and spanners and the engine.
+ belts, hoses, clamps fluids etc.
CHANGING an engine is one of the easiest jobs out there, the last one i did took under 11 hours, all up, running.
the first, from memory, was with help, and all up around 15 or so hours.
DIY = the best.
