thats because you havent received any rep yet, you start with 10, and then it is either given and your rep increases, or it is taken away and then your rep decreases

your another newcastle hachi owner arent you? they asways seem to get neg repped all the time. must be something in the water up there

I know what I did.......I did miss posts and made a stupid mistake with my sig.
    So why repeat it.
And Yes I do think the current rep system may not be the best, am I not allowe dto voice an opinion, it is a feedback thread.......
or as you once said to me.. "he obviously can't read"

"your another newcastle hachi owner arent you? they asways seem to get neg repped all the time. must be something in the water up there"
    Really mature comment.
How does this post of yours do anything constructive other than trying to to repeat something already there that I obviously know as I said it myself.

Isnt this what neg rep "should" be used for; and what I did give you one (and only one) for previously....... a reply to somethin just saying how dumb I was which has no constructive value at all.
I did apoligise... and thought this was over........ why the hell you want to continue hacking into me?
That thing about Newcastle ae86 owners though was really uncalled for!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Well I thought if there was a form that had to be filled out and looked at by mods etc.
People woul dbe less likely to be click happy with the neg rep as it involves more and the fact that they know it would be looked at by a mod... no one would really dare give stupid-pupose neg reps. Thats all that was on my mind. To work 2-fold. As a authentication purpose and a preventative.

the whole point of the rep is so users can decide who the 'wookies' and the reputable users are.

the newcastle ae86 owner comment, is pointing out that there have been a few users from newcastle that have complained about the rep system being unfair, stupid etc. they get on ae86dc bad mouth toymods. and they are normally the ones who dont take the time to read, what has already been asked and answered before, then complain when the rep system shows that they are 'wookies'.
as for the cant read statement, you should be able to work out what the neg rep was for, if everyone wrote "already covered" in the comment section would it make you feel better?

no_tofu_speed limmiting the neg rep to mods wouldn't have helped you in this instance. I saw the posts made asking the same old questions, the asking for rep in your signature and the huge signature in general and I negative repped you for it. I very rarely give negative rep but in this instance when it all added up and especially asking for rep I felt I had to do it, so that was 10 of your rep down the drain.

Josh, ur right, I was doomed in general in this, instance.
But it was just what sparked my thinking with what if scenarios.... Then read a few things posted here and disputes by others, so thats what made me suggest.

it has been answered a whole bunch of times before but... if a preson has less than 10 rep, or hasn't made enough posts in tech+general, their rep doesn't count.

the point is that if they have just turned up, they have no rep until they start contributing or they have been neg repped to less than 10, and so they lose the right to rep.

i have plenty of neutral rep, and there was heaps in the first month or so of forums...

I had a bit of an idea as to why some of the comments fields were left blank, so I thought I'd share it. I've noticed that quite a few people who'd like to give +rep to a person and can't do it because of the '15 votes before you can rep the same person again' rule remember who it was that made the good post or good info in the post, but don't always remember why or what the +rep was for. So they get the +rep for making the good post x-amount of time ago, but the reason for it might have been forgotten and the comment field left blank.

Not saying that the 15-vote rule is flawed or anything, but it could be a source of the blank comment fields for people who regularly contribute good info in posts and deserve +rep.

That was just my thinking though.

It doesnt actually, you just get a number infront of your squares to tell you how many more rep should be there.
