    Default Clutch wont bleed up????

Ok so here is sarga number 53355462525

Im trying to bleed up the new clutch, i cant even get the fluid to come out of the side of the master cylinder, let alone get it through the lines to the slave.

Its all been freshly added to the car as it was auto before, looks like a new master cylinder aswell.

Anyone got any idea why it shouldnt suck it through the cup in the top and spit it out the side?? I can get maybe the odd spit once every never, but nothing worth getting excited about. Ive dis connected it at the pedal and tried it down there in case it wasnt getting enough travel, but that wasnt it either.

    Noodle scratcher.
    Any ideas??

This car obviously doesnt like me........

Clearly. It just knows what you're going to do to it when it's running properly, so it's delaying the inevitable.

Try holding your finger against the outlet while someone slowly pumps the pedal. This will allow the air in the system to force out past your finger, but make the MC draw fluid from the reservoir on the backward stroke.

I normally just open up the bleed valve, put a hose on it to direct the flow into a container, and just pump until there is fluid in all the lines, then go through the usual bleed procedure. I do like what Jasper has suggested though, as lightly pressing a finger against the bleed valve will allow the air out, and the suction of the system will suck your finger onto the valve thus forming a one way valve.

This is why I love the old school clutches, they are piss easy to bleed.

being an MRS, I would think that the lenght of hosing is playing havok with you. Try Jasper's solution and see how you go.

I had this problem. It sounds like it needs a pressure bleed to get it started.

I bodgied up a bike pump fitting to an old clutch master cylinder cap (thru the little breathe hole). Get some one to hold the cap on and pump the bike pump, while you pump the peddle. Make sure the resevoir stays full of fluid, as always!

    This should get it going!

hmm this sounds like it could be a goer, startin to do my fukn head in now, thing is im home alone so gotta wait for the missus to get home now.

Jasper your idea did work on the bench, however i think once reconnected to the car, the clutch line all the way to the back is simply to long to keep workin if that makes sense.

I'l give the pressure bleed a go later.

    Cheers

Palm of you hand on top of the reservoir will push fluid into the cylinder.
Pushing the piston down with NO outlet restriction, then covering the outlet with your finger BEFORE letting the piston come back up, will draw fluid into the cylinder.
Gravity should work fine if there isn't any smegma blocking the port, or the fluid isn't as thick as honey.

Try bench bleeding as you have been doing, If you hold a finger against the outlet and pump the piston with a screwdriver or something, you should get resistance building up on the piston as the air is dispersed and pushed through. If it doesn't hold pressure then the seals could be stuffed. If it bleeds up ok, install in car and gravity bleed it. If you need to push a blockage through the lines don't pump the pedal, as this will only draw back air. Basically only open the valve on the downstroke af the pedal, then do it up again. If blockage is in the line, disconnect at both sides and blow through the hose. Also make sure the slave isn't ceased.

yeha i did the bench bleed which sorted that problem.

Turns out there is another problem which i failed to see while doing it on my own, there is a fukn leak in a connector block located above the fuel tank, which can only be accessed by removing the tank or removing the engine. Obviously this was installed when engine was out. God Dammit!!!!!!

Im going to go emo myself soon.......fark!!!!!!!!!!
