Does it need to be twisted as its pushed in? I had to do my brothers Honda and the stupid piston needed to be turned as its pushed in.
Ok so im putting new pads and discs etc on the back or the MRS spyder.
The car hasnt had rear pads or discs fitted since the engine conversion started. The problem i have is that everyone has been playing with the hand brake and the brake pedal in the mean time. Now it appears the piston has been pushed right out of the caliper.
Normally i would just squeeze it back it.
Is there some sort of screw or ratcheting system on the caliper which relates to the handbrake? EG self adjustment?
I cant seem to squeeze the piston back very far and appears to be linked to the mechanical handbrake lever attached to the caliper.
How do i release it and push the piston back into the caliper???
Never had this problem before....
Cheers

I guess i could try taking off the master cylinder cap......although doubt it will make any difference as i have the caliper sitting on my bench heheheh

I battled and battled with a caliper on a Renault Clio recently. Hours I spent trying to get it to move.... then I realised it was a screw-in one. I didn't even know they existed, so that could be your problem.
Must.... avoid.... urge... to... upgrade... parts I haven't.... used.... yet.....
yep same deal here mate. Just had a go and yeah it is a screw in one. A grinder blade removal tool is perfect to use to screw it back in, wallah piece of cake.
Cheers Guys
