Hmmm You may have to check how your light works behind the dash(with a multimeter and some know how)
But usually when you earth the wire it comes on? Unless thats some cars.
Im still having issues with my charge light in my rt142. I have had my alternator regulator replaced and tested by a shop. However still my light is on. Do these alternators produce current from the 'L' wire to turn the light off? Cuz I have managed to get it to go out only by splicing into the 'L' wire and joining it to the main alternator output. Help im going crazy here!!

i think for memory the 3 pin plug has the wires;
charge light,
battery sense
aux?
is the battery sense wire connected? it should be fused and relayed only when the ignition is on.
the voltage difference between this wire and the alt output is what triggers the charge light for memory
hello
just unplug the light and put a gauge in
or better yet, check the battery is charging when motor running. im assuming it is if not ud be whinging about flat batteries.
in my ke70, theres a single wire that connects to wire on my alt to turn the charge light off. but that wire signals the alternator to work, coz if its disconnected it dont work...
hmm, i dont think ive been of any use here
check its working is the first step.
second step, find which wire makes it turn the light off. but make sure the light comes on when ur not charging (take the belt off, or find the signal wire so it isnt charging when engine running)
and make sure it comes on when you stall. aka engine not running, but key on "run"
cheers, andrew

have you re-checked the charge at the battery?....should be bout 14.5v running with no accessories on....
blake
You've probably got the same thing happening as me. I've not yet bothered to work out why though. The battery is charging fine, just my light stays on. I will get around to sorting it...one day![]()

I wasted yet another day chasing the charge light porblem so now I doubt it will be on the road for dyno dayI went to pick'n'payless and cut a whole section of wiring out of a corona including the fuse box and replaced my mess in my engine bay. And guess what...it still didnt work, light stayed on!! So I thought I should perhaps try else where since the wiring into the fuse box is now 100% correct. So I started digging around in the wiring inside the drivers side kick panel and found what looks to be a relay or something with 'charge light' written on it. So for safe measure I thought I would swap it with the one from the old car. The one from the old car is different, it was just a plug with a wire which what looks to be bypasing what would have been the relay thingo. So I fired it up with the new plug and cracked open a bourbon cuz the light then went out! YAY!
