ra 63gt

does anyone know if an ra63gt has rack and pinion steering? if so will the crossmember fit into an ra28?

all XA6X's to my knowlege are rack and pinnion.

but no the x member wont fit. their are some detailed posts on converting early celica's to rack on the old forums to my knowlege, i never read them cos im not into the car.

from memory the rack from an ke70 might have been the donor.

basically the rack has to be the same width rack end pivot to rack end pivot as the distance between the lca inner pivot points.

but theres alot more to it than that.

RA63 should have a rack.

Not sure if it will fit RA28...I would look into KE70, as that has been done before...

yeh,

RA60 and RA65 and presumably RA63 have xmembers that are waaaaaaaaay to wide for RA23/28/40.

that said someone on here ( member "TA022" ?) has persisted in fitting one or is trying to fit one.

as mentioned too wide but then again bolt ins arent challenging are they

TurboRA28 used a KE70 crossmember for his rack and pinion into his RA28. Can't remember if the pictures are on the old toymods or the new one. He has ALOT of pictures
